1998 Porsche Boxster that has had an interesting history. The car appears to have been a highly optioned car when new. Cruise, computer, memory seats, etc. Then was showered with love that include proper modification to include the third (center) radiator, an upgraded convertible top that has the interior liner, and the CDR220 radio and cd changer with infinity speakers. It had the transmission swapped out with the Audi version that had better gear ratios for acceleration. Somewhere along the way the cats were deleted too. In total, this car flies. Rev the motor, drop the clutch and she takes off leaving tracks from wheel spin. Speed shift into second and you'll get scratch while she accelerates quickly above legal speed limits in second gear - I really haven't gone faster than that as I don't have insurance on the car. The motor sounds great - I suspected it was larger than the 2.5, but no, I didn't find evidence of that. All gears shift as they should. The steering is tight. It handles great. Whoever did all that work really loved the car. But, it appears that they then traded it and the next owner crashed it. It's title was branded rebuilt. During repairs it appears they tried to change the color from silver to white. The shop that did that work cut too many corners and the paint is below average. It looks okay from a distance, but the closer you get, the worse it looks. Too bad since it runs so good. The interior looks good. Thank you. I properly changed it from red to black. The red was faded and worn. All parts used were Porsche parts. The gauges have been swapped out to the white face dials and the odometer reads 49K, but the car really has 93K. The check engine light is on because the cat delete meant rear O2 sensors are gone. There are some TLC things that are needed too, like the horn does not work, it will chirp if the car is not locked properly (as it should), but when you push on the steering wheel horn pad, the horn will not sound. There is only one key, and the remote does not work. There are a few other minor issues too. The good news is that the spare, jack and tool set are included. Replacement owner's manuals are included, and there are lots of new parts. New parts include the windshield, new front pads and rotors, new rear pads, new clutch and clutch slave cylinder, new clutch master cylinder, and new ignition switch. This car is a blast to drive. At this price anyone can afford it. Please note however, if you are planning to finance the car, most banks and credit unions will not touch it because of the rebuilt title. No warranty, as-is, where-is. $500 deposit due with 24 hours of auction close. Balance due in 7 days. Checks accepted, but car and title will not be release until AFTER check clear the bank.
