Vehicle Detail

This is the coveted 6 cylinder 603 full leather, full upgrade G Wagon produced in that year. I believe about 500 were made, but cannot verify that. It is 100% stock, and has factory AC Loads of images @ http://www.65design.ca/g.html Drivetrain: Full time four wheel drive. First year it was offered. Full differentials work fine. Very rare automatic. Transmission is smooth, no rattles! A joy to ride. Services by Mercedes mechanic. Only 170,000km or 110,000 miles. All gauges work. ABS brakes! Undercariage: I have as well as the previous owner always underrated it with Krown rust protection. It looks great! This rust protection is also injected into all the cavities and wells, which virtually eliminates rust, and also stops rust that wants to wonder. Glass: All good original and fine. Lights: All good original and fine. Body: No accidents, fender benders AC: I believe it needs to be recharged. Never need it here so it was never used. We just do not get that warm. It is factory and all there. Tires: Pirelli still plenty of life. Rims: Factory alloy Engine: 6 cylinder 603 engine. More HP than the 5 cylinder GD300 and travels about 15 mph faster than the 5 cylinders and gets 24 miles per gallon, about twice as good as any gas version any year. It has not needed any work since I have owned it ( 3 years), but was looked over recently to make sure everything was fine. At that time the fuel filters we changed, the oil filter changed, and an auxillary fuel pump added. It was added for cold winters here. When it gets cold Diesel fuel can gell especially when driving freeway speeds. The Auxillary fuel pump helps insure fuel is making it through the filter and into the chamber. I did notice a difference. The only negative I believe it is that it leaves a bit of unburnt fuel in the engine after shut down which causes a minor smoke at start up. Once the excess fuel is burnt and the engine warms up, diesel exhaust is virtually undetectable. Do not use synthetic oil, use a standard low grade diesel oil. Older diesels engines will preform and last longer using the grade of oil they were built with in mind. It runs fine and always has. At start up and until the engine warms up and at low RPM there is minor diesel exhaust evident but once you get above 2000 RPM is disappears. As mentioned above this was more obvious after putting the auxiliary pump on. If you are in a warmer climate you can easily disconnect it. This is common for the engine. All the 603 engine do it, as do most if not all older Mercedes. Remember it is 25 year old Merecedes engine, they need tinkering from time to time, and this one could use a valve adjustment down the road and but my mechanic said he sees it in all of them and is not an issue. These engines are known to go well over 500kms. It sounds wonderful, always starts without hesitaion, and runs smooth at 100kms per hour ( 60mph). Interior: 8.5 out of 10. 10 being new Very rare leather upgrade at time of original purchase. All the leather on the seats doors and trim is in good shape. With the exception of some scratches and a couple of carpet stains it is quite good. The light blue leather was really rare. Nice in the summer as it does not over heat like black leather. You can get in with shorts on and not notice it. Dash is fine, controls all good, back seat fine, no rattling interior parts, which is probably an indication previous owners never tore it apart. All window work fine as does the sun roof. Exterior. Paint. 6-7 out of 10. It has become tired over the years. 1. The front hood and roof had paint cracking from sitting in the sun so it was painted. 2. The driver side rear quarter panel had work done to it ( minor) and was repainted 3. The seams under the rear side windows were also cracking. There is a tar like compound from the factory they put in the seams and it is/was drying out, so the panels were painted around that area. 4. If I were to repaint it. I would take out the front windshield, and do minor repair to the upper area. Very common for the G’s. I have been told it is a good idea if you do not see rust forming to take out the front window and look for decay at time of painting because they all curried much like rear quarter panels on G’s All of this was done by the previous owner who I knew briefly. The minor body work in three places must have been done correctly as it all still looks the same after three years. The body work was all very minor. The problem with the paint I believe is there was no clear coat added to the paint so it has a flat appearance. T is not too bad but if your looking for a pimped out shine, it would really needed to be repainted. A couple of coats of wax would really help.I have got a few quotes and to paint it properly it would cost $3000 to do the whole truck. Personally I never bothered with getting it done as I am fine with it. If I am to keep it i will be getting it X-Lined in the matching blue. Cost about $4000 to do so but would be very nice. I am asking $25,000 US. If it gets repainted and pimped up a bit, it will be worth over that and I would ask $30,000 plus. If you detail the hell out of it ,it would be worth $35,000. This diesel G will always retain its value if looked after, unlike the gas versions. This is not a quick import flip as most showing up on Ebay are, with little history, or a redone 460 or 461 version too look like a 463, it is a 100% factory 463 version, with full time 4 wheel drive, automatic. it has been my weekend driver, occasional evening ride for the past three years. I take it to go mountain biking on the weekends out for dinner, or just a country road drive. Thanks Loads of images @ http://www.65design.ca/g.html
