Vehicle Detail
Looking to have a car that no one else will have at the next cars and coffee meet? Well here it is! This is a 1969 Subaru 360 Young. Perfect for restoration. By no means can you jump in this car and drive it down the street. It will start and run, but it does need some work. It has a clean New Mexico title and bill of sale. The odometer reads just over 18,000 miles, but I have no idea if that is accurate or not. For those of you that do not know what a Subaru 360 is, they were the first cars ever that Subaru imported into the US in the late 60's and early 70's. You can read all about them on Wikipedia at: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_360 These cars have a 2 cylinder, 2 stroke, 360 cc engine that is located in the rear of the car. They were micro cars and are about the size of the original Mini Cooper's. In one of the pictures you will see my wife's Fiat 500 to give you an idea of the size of the Subaru. If you look online you will see pictures of these in the back of full-size pick up trucks. This car is a Subaru Young S, which had a slightly upgraded engine and transmission (4 gears instead of 3), bucket seats and a tachometer along with a black, white striped roof with a dent along the middle to put your surfboard. My dad started restoring this car back in 2000 but then he passed away. It has always been garaged since since the mid '90s. Some of the things that he did were: Converted it from a generator to an alternator with a new regulator. New tires & tubes New battery, but it is now dead. It will need a new one. Replaced the rear side window rubber seals (windows need to be re-installed. The dimensions of the car, (so you know what size trailer will be needed) is: Length 117.9in, Width 51.2in, Height 52.8in, and Wheelbase 70.9in. It weighs 925lbs. $500 PayPal non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of auction closing. You will need to arrange local pickup within 10 days of closing and remainder of the payment will need to be cash or a certified cashier's bank check. This car is located in Albuquerque, NM 87110. Thanks for looking, and If you have any questions, please email me. On Oct-12-15 at 14:31:15 PDT, seller added the following information: I was able to start the car, but it hadn't been started in 15 years. Here's a link to a YouTube video of it starting and kind of running: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCrYPsiplVU
