Last Year Made ~ 1985 AMC JEEP CJ-8 'Scrambler' in Good Condition. Has been used at 2nd Home (Small Mountain Cabin in Southern Utah) for the last 15 years, but averaged only 100 miles per year for those 15 yrs.Selling for my father-in-law, who has never touched a computer. I've had a lot of inquiries re: Rust, so I took some close-up photos and added annotations. Vehicles that have spent most of their lives in the Desert Southwest, seldom have rust issues. Black, Snap-On Type to Match the Bed Cover & Hood Towing Guard. Hi-Lift Jack (shown in photo/s) is Included. Steam-Cleaned Engine Compartment on 10/12 a.m., noticed tape on 'steering shaft yoke' area. Steering Yoke/Joint Needs to be Repaired or Replaced. Steering Wheel has too much playo in my opinion, which is not noticeable until you hit about 40-45 mph. Very Low-Geared, Not sure of Exact Ratio. 4-Speed Manual & Engine RPM's ask for 4th Gear at about 28 MPH. Not sure of top speed, as the steering "play" told me to back off. It does have an after-market Steering Stabilizer Installed. I Parked it in my garage (epoxy painted concrete floor) for 24 hrs. & noticed one Nickel sized motor oil spot on floor under driver's side of engine. Not sure of source as I am not a mechanic. Tested rotation and function of Lock-Out Hubs and both sides turn easily with detent in both 'engaged' & 'disengaged' positions. They both appear to be non-OEM. Did not head out to the desert to drive it in 4H & 4L, but am told by father-in-law that both work very well. All in all, it doesn't need much to get it dialed-in & ready for fun. A frame-up restoration would put this vehicle in the 30k (or more) range of value. I will not sell this vehicle by private treaty or negotiations, outside of this eBay listing. Sorry. This CJ8 is sold where-is, as-is, with no warranty, either expressed or implied. Storage area is paved & easily accessible by any-size car-hauler, including semi-trucks. It's a great value at the 'Buy It Now' Price. If it doesn't sell, I will most likely list it again at a later date, but it will be for more. I've priced it on the low-end of it's value. Thanks, Bill
