2006 Ford Escape Hybrid SUV...in our family since it was brand new I am selling our 2006 Ford Escape Hybrid that has given me flawless service up until last week for 9+ years and over 300,000 miles. My job requires that I drive a lot of highway miles to and from, and this vehicle was a treasure. It has better than normal wear and tear for a 9 year old car, and is in ABOVE average shape cosmetically. Last week it had a engine failure, and the local Ford dealership says that it needs either a (a) Engine Rebuild, or (b) a replacement engine. I hate to let it go, but I don't have the money to do the engine work, and I have a newer Ford hybrid now. This car was bought by me brand new in 2006 from the dealer, and used by my son as a local commuter car after high school. He put some cigarette burns on the upholstery - much to my dismay. I kept it cherry! The hybrid power train and CVT transmission still operate flawlessly. You can't kill these transmissions! It had recent brake work and 2 new tires put on in July. If you don't mind doing the engine work - this car should last you for many years to come. It passes state inspection every year. It's had oil changes every 10,000 miles (recommended for hybrids) by the dealer I bought from - with a synthetic blend oil. Bid with confidence ... this will be a great fixer-upper for someone, and it still looks GREAT!
