Vehicle Detail
This is a no reserve auction. lowered 59 Fleetside short-bed from Texas. This truck was setting under a lean-to by a barn since 1974. The truck has the normal rust, and desirable pitina which is shown in photos, made by the Texas sun. This truck has a 283, 4 speed manual but I don't think this is the original 283, The guy I bought it from told me it is bored .030 I don't know the miles on the motor, but it doesn't smoke so I think it's in pretty good shape. We got this truck running, It has a Hei distributer, and Holly 4 barrel. We flushed the fuel tank and replaced all the rubber lines and filter, new filler neck hose. It has a new fuel pump, new wheel cylinders, and some new brake lines. The master cylinder was froze, so we honed and cleaned it. I do have a brand new alternator for the truck to make it 12 volt system. I got some pullys yesterday a water pump and balancer. To line it all up I will get it changed this week. It does have new wood in the bed. I bought some used tires for it they're in pretty good condition. The frame has been C-notched to lower the truck. Has new spark plugs, wires, it has new valve cover gaskets also a new ignition switch. All the glass is good in the truck, The wind shield does have a bulls eye but is not cracked. The driver's side vent glass is cracked I did see a new one here on Ebay for around $8. There is some rust above the windshield that rusted through. I put a bead of clear silicone above the seal to keep it from leaking. The windshield seal should be replaced at some point, is not it the best of shape but will work for a while. The windows roll up and down good. The doors are very solid. The steps below the doors are rusted with some holes in them. The floor boards are in very good shape for a truck of this age. There's holes in the doors from where i removed the mirrors they could be welded up pretty easily. The truck is far from perfect, but it is a pretty cool old truck. The truck, cab, and bed are very straight. I don't think there is on dent in the truck anywhere. I have a clear Texas blue title that I got with the truck from 1976.
