Vehicle Detail

This is a genuinely nice, adult owned car that has been well cared for and garaged for most of its life. During my ownership it has only spent a few nights outdoors. For the winter months it sits indoors on jack stands connected to a battery maintainer and is covered with two car covers. As a result it is in very good condition. The original paint still has a deep rich shine and doesn't show any fading or discoloration. There is no rust on this car or any other major defects or problems. All of the weatherstripping is in excellent condition so there aren't any air leaks. The locks are all original so one key still operates all of the locks on the car. The T-tops operate perfect and are very easy to remove and reinstall. There are a few small, very shallow dings on the body and there are two imperfections in the paint approximately 1/4" in diameter on the front bumper cover just in front of the headlamp. The windshield has a scar from a stone impact located high on the passenger side. It has been there the entire time I have owned the car and it hasn't grown. The rest of the car is in amazingly good condition. In the last few hundred miles that car was treated to new Tein performance springs, Koni Sport adjustable struts, and BF Goodrich, G-force Rival tires at all four corners (205/50-15 in the front and 225/45-15 in the rear), and front ball joints. A proper 4-wheel alignment was performed after this work was completed. This car is a total blast to drive! This suspension upgrade is worth every penny spent on it. It drives very smooth, tracks straight, and has exceptionally quick transitions with almost no body roll. This set-up drastically improved the cars braking performance too. The previous owner replaced the original wheels with OEM 15" staggered wheels from a later model MR2 however a couple of them have some minor scuffs along the lip.The timing belt, tensioner, and idler bearing were recently replaced along with the water pump, red Toyota coolant, and all of the drive belts. An OEM distributor cap and rotor were fitted and the spark plugs were replaced with NGK plugs. The car also had all sixteen valve guide seals upgraded to prevent oil consumption problems common to the 5SFE engine before it became a problem and the valve adjustment was performed. This car doesn't smoke at all. The oil stays very clean between changes and was observed to free of sludge and gunk when the valve guide seals were being replaced. The engine starts great, runs smooth and quiet, and pulls strong all the way to redline. I have run full synthetic oil in the engine with Toyota OEM filters and Red Line synthetic oil in the transaxle. The transmission shifts great and all of the synchros are in perfect working order. The clutch operates as it should with no slipping or chattering. The optional electrohydraulic steering provides great feel without feeling over assisted. All of the switches, handles, lights, latches, gauges and controls on the car operate as they should. I tested the AC a few days ago and even while stationary on a very hot day the air is very cold. The interior is in superb condition. It looks, smells, and feels like new. There is a spot on the upholstery on the left bolster of the drivers seat near the seam where the material is thin. It isn't visible unless you are very close to the seat. The carpeted floor mats show light wear but the underlying carpet is in excellent condition. The interior is all original except for the Alpine CDE-103 radio. It is XM ready, has a USB port on the front, and does have an Ipod cable routed to the inside of the glove compartment. Receipts indicate that the door speakers were replaced with 6.5" Eclipse 3-way speakers. and the factory sub woofer is in perfect working order. The stereo sounds great! I will gladly speak with anyone who has any questions about this car. Just send me an e-mail with your phone number and a good time to call you. I can keep the car garaged for 30 days after the auction if necessary to facilitate your schedule. I had thought it was due to a difference in materials between the door and rear quarter window moldings and hadn't given it a second thought. I just ordered new Toyota moldings for both doors. They will be included along with the car. I will ship the moldings to the winning bidder if they don't arrive before the car is picked up.
