Second owner in Novato, CA from 1982-2014. She purchased with 62804 miles. We purchased october 2014 with mileage 94xxx. Clean California Title. Currently registered in Nevada but retains CA title. Has all CA smog equipment intact from when it passed in 2014 smog. Includes folder of receipts from previous owner dating back to early-80's. Highlights include:-new hankook RA-08 x 4 tires at 93,938- dual batteries with charging system 1989- new brakes, lines, cylinders, calipers with disc brake front March, 2014- new vanagon front seats, stripped, blasted and coated, re-upholstered 2014- new retractable seat belts -2014- new fuel pump -2014- new vacuum and fuel hoses -2014- new starter cable and grounds -2014-new headlight bulbs -2014- new catalytic converter 10/2014 - engine rebuild by Tillman German Car Specialists at 43606 (assume143606)- trans replaced by same shop above at 10500 (assume 110500)- installed sunroof. No leaks noted, good rubber seals. Upon taking possession we have done the following - evident with receipts and/or visual inspection:- re-timed and valves adjusted to within factory specs- oil change with new filter (have extra gasket set for oil strainer for future)- added fog lights- front tire cover- top mounted bamboo 1/4 rack- installed heavy duty sway bar in front.- replaced steering stabilizer and all 4 shocks. Inspected and tightened, lubed, repair as needed front end and steering components. - replaced and adjusted transmission shifting bushing- ordered and will include extra clutch cable- removed interior sink, stove (not working) and added storage and countertop, confirmed working fridge. (Has external power port). Will also include the above and the side step and external propane tank original to set up (is likely out of spec).- removed rear seat and seat belts (will include in sale) and replaced with rear full sized mattress with memory foam overlay. - replaced rear axles, cv's and boots. Also includes original, rebuildable axles and CV's (boots are torn, otherwise very functional)- installed new head studs and gaskets on leak in #3 cylinder due to sheared head stud bolt from broken hanger. Exhaust reinforced with welded hanger, inspected and no noted leaks. - awning re-attached- lubed all doors and installed new seals at passenger and driver doors. - replaced starter with new unit and installed hot start relay- new main battery, aux battery tested good. On battery tender while not in operation. - replaced alternator belt- new coil and points/condenser replaced with Pertronix electronic ignition (sale includes new sets of points and condenser)- engine seal replaced, all tins intact (noted previous owner disconnected thermostat and left flaps open in default position for maximum cooling)- replaced all fuel lines from tank to engine, new filter installed. - replaced faulty cold start valve- replaced cap and rotor, air filter- added oil dipstick temp warning- old carpeted main floor replaced (no rust spots under carpet, camper conversion holes sealed) with rubber mat sub-floor and oak composite laminate flooring. - hand made swivel tray table to sliding door area. - added locking center console (former u.s. Army ammo canister) and dash hula girl, armed with m-16 for "security" ;)- added shelving and storage drawers, personalized for space utilization. - front carpet replaced- added front under-dash tray and 12v outlet with battery voltmeter- installed dash mount vdo tachometer- installed stereo with aux i-pod outlet and new door speakers (head unit just took a dump this last trip, in protected mode, not working)- ash tray mounted cup holder- replaced alternator bracket after this last trip due to crack. Sale also includes as listed above and the following - brand new set of AMC heads and studs for whenever the next rebuild is due ($1k our cost), original folding rear seat, belts, and all mounting hardware. Original german CV joints (need new boots) and axles. Original side step for sliding door, under mounted propane tank, propane wall heater, (- water tank and pump still in bus), assorted filters and spark plugs, points and condensers, coil, valve cover gaskets, electric windshield washer tank for conversion from current/stock air pressure tank (hose has leak at steering wheel joiner), extra fuel lines and clamps (german), rear seat and belts, panels included - folding, makes into bed. Top bed has all panels to be included. - rust wise - the floors, doglegs, jack points, wheel wells and undercarriage all look good. Noted rust under windshield (sealed), battery trays rusted through (supported at present in temporary fashion with plywood in tray.) wing window behind drivers seat also with temp. sealed window frame rust at bottom of tray. Various body panels with light, superficial rust spots only, gutters have superficial rust color only, no rust through. Under the gas cap area has an area where the paint has been worn away to bare metal but no rust, clear coated bare metal. Also passengers side had an old area of presumed body trim strip which came off with the previous owner - paint is rubbed down but no rust. -body with dents and scratches in minimal spots. -includes tent which attaches to awning and encloses in front of sliding door. -headliners intact without rips. - snow chains included from previous owner. Just kampers thermal Front window privacy cover included, as are all the other curtains. - includes john Muir book and Bentley manual. Also many of the original documents and owners manual. Ready to drive and enjoy, just took a spin today after a bunch of fixes. repairs and minor fixes as you go, like all these old vehicles. Most of the little stuff has been remedied. The bus is not restored so i am not going to expect a fully restored price. However, it is in good shape, not a project (it was for me...) and not a giveaway. Have a video of it running if you would like to hear it. (- running list of to do includes: re-wire aux. 12v outlet in cabinet., a few of the zippers in the pop-up need attention. Fuel vent elbows behind rear tail lights and filler hose replaced some time - both functional at present, some smell at fill ups noted. The o-rings on the rocker tubes could be replaced as minor oil seepage noted, also noted oil fill tube/dipstick with minor oil leak. The first a.m. Start is a little cold blooded, once it starts - will restart again without difficulty. Cold start loop may need investigation. Stereo as mentioned above. All in all - no major stuff. Drives great - just completed a 2400 mile trip one month ago. ) - would like to recover some of the $14k that has been shelled out of our pocket over the last year for this bus and its fixes.
