Vehicle Detail
1956 Four Door Chevrolet 210 ModelLast driven about ten years ago. Amazingly, the tires have not deflated but I would certainly not trust them to drive on. You will need a flatbed wrecker to retrieve it from the parking spot in the front yard.Exterior white – the original color, painted once; interior - black and gray, replacement seat covers, headliner, and door panels, no interior painting done. Hub caps are in the trunk.6 cylinder 210 CID L6 engine with oil bath air cleaner (wow!) and optional oil filter; three speed manual, column shift, with overdrive. Overdrive lacks the centrifugal switch so it is controlled by two manual switches and a relay.Running gear is all original except for the overdrive transmission – the original one is in the trunk; engine rebuilt once, about 15000 miles ago.It has never been in a major accident. There was some damage, repaired, to the left rear fender, caused by another vehicle sliding into it at very low speed in a snow-slicked driveway. Later, in a parking lot, another vehicle backed into the left rear fender, breaking the Bondo repair above the bumper, below the tail light. It was lightly rear-ended once, doing a bit of crunching, repaired. The original hood bar was stolen but a replacement is in a box on the back floor.I am the second owner of this vehicle. In the trunk, I will provide various specialized automotive tools, such as forks for ball joints and tie rod ends, three torque wrenches (one a rather expensive SnapOn), steering wheel puller, brake tools, homemade but plenty effective front wheel bearing installation tool (driver), maybe some other items I run across, one pair of very heavy duty NAPA jack stands if I can find them.Big bonus – copy of the GM 1955 repair manuals and the 1956 supplements. Note that GM did not publish a single manual for the 56 model, only the 55 plus the 56 supplement.
