Former Show Car - Former Daily Driver for sale. 1972 Volvo 1800ES Vin # 1136 Cypress Green exterior, Tan interior. 4 Cylinder B-2000 fuel injected engine. 4 speed transmission with electric overdrive. There were only 8,078 produced. 10 years ago I restored the fuel injection system with new parts, new injectors, and new fuel pump and began driving it daily. 8 years ago I repainted it back to original code Cypress Green. Installed dash cap and began replacing rear brake calipers and brake lines then got married before I finished the brake project. There are brake parts and lots of other extra parts including battery box, bumpers, extra gauge set, etc. Car was started or driven at least once a year until now … there is plenty of fresh gas at the injectors but no spark. Probably has a loose wire or may need points. Was told by previous owner that engine was rebuilt with torque cam. Original owner showed the car as a member of Volvo Sports America and I showed the car at the VSA Western Invitational where I met Irv Gordon and saw his million mile 1800 coupe. Body was previously rust free but upon recent inspection I found there is rust thru the lower edge down by exhaust, light rust/surface bubble on panel below driver door, light rust under dash around battery box, some small surface rust bubbles under paint on lower edge of passenger rear panel, and the battery box is rusted (it came with extra battery box when I bought it but never got around to welding it in) but overall it is better than many others listed on Ebay. Rubber trim for doors and windows look surprisingly good ... but will need missing rubber trim for hood. Would replace carpet and tires. Found a small rust hole 1 inch by 2 inch hiding under left foot rest bracket on drivers floorboard otherwise frame, jack points and undercarriage look good and most areas still have very thick undercoat. Added custom variable potentiometer to allow adjustable increase in fuel injection recommended for street torque cam. I realize now Reserve was too low so someone is going to get lucky! What is the condition of the front seats and can you e-mail a picture? Good and no rips or tears but not original like rear seats (same color cloth and vinyl) ... Will send pic tonite or tomorrow Does it have any working brakes or are they disassembled? Rear brakes disassembled ... new calipers and hoses included. When you last drove it did the transmission shift properly? Yes and Overdrive was good. Do all of the electrics work (i.e. lights, gauges, etc.)? Just got car started and gauges look good. Comes with extra gauges and other parts battery box, bumpers, etc Are the floor boards and frame solid (i.e. no rust)? Yes ... look good but on second inspection found small 1 by 2 inch hole hidden under driver foot rest bracket. Does it leak any fluids (i.e. oil, coolant)? No drips underneath car. Some old dirt oil grime on overdrive and oil pan but no drips on driveway under car. What is the condition of all of the rubber weather-strips? Look surprisingly good. Need rubber strip for hood. I believe all the gauges work except clock ... this is my 4th 1800 and I have never seen working clock except car shows! :-) Comes with extra gauge set. Speedo in car has 87k miles other two are at 99K and 45K ... not sure which is original but car is over 40 years old. Cars this age can rollover many times by now but two gauges have 6 digits so that's 087k and 099k! I have clear title in hand ... registration has been non op'ed. Thank you
