I bought this car in Italy and brought it back to the States with me in 2004. Was my regular commuting car in Italy, but now I only drive it once or twice per year, so time to pass it along. 55k original km on the odometer. This is a first series Fiat 600 with sliding windows and suicide doors. Engine was rebuilt in Italy when I bought it and it still puts out all 28 hp it was designed to. I had the car was repainted in Italy, but maintained original color. I had the interior reupholstered in Italy, not an exact match to original but very close. Always starts right up, even after sitting for months (in a garage). New battery, good tires, brake cylinders restored. Replaced water pump but could not find a replacement freeze plug so using a wood plug (like a bung)to seal drain hole (not a big deal). Horn button has a crack in it. Interior roof material is original, but has aged and started to curl away from roof (it's not fabric, more of a plastic/cardboard material). Will need new wiper blade rubber. Overall, the car is as good example as you'll find for a first series 600. It's a pretty low reserve price, so come and get it. I also have many original spare parts, including 4 brake shoes, NOS clutch disk, bearings, complete engine gasket set, control cables (accelerator, hood release, parking brake), oil filters. Car also comes with a reproduction detailed repair manual. Pick up/delivery is the buyer's responsibility but I will assist at this end however I can. Can probably work out some kind of delivery agreement if you're in the mid-Atlantic area.
