1983 Honda VT500C ShadowMileage: 22,600 A few months ago this motorcycle caught on fire from a gas leak from the fuel petcock. The fire only lasted for a short time before it was put out and burned mostly the rear half of the bike with some of the front plastics being melted by the heat. It did sustain damage to the wiring electronics, seat, battery/ air box area, rear tire, rear fender, and gauges. However, the Front end including the front forks, front tire, handlebars, and mirrors are fine. Also the engine, mechanical parts, frame and exhaust pipes are not burned and seem to be okay as well. The gas tank can be repainted and still usable, but it does have a dent in the upper right corner. I cleaned up the bike from smoke soot and ash to the best of my ability in order to show accurate pictures. The title is a CLEAN title (not a salvage or rebuilt title). I included some detailed photos of the bike and also the last photo is what the bike originally looked like earlier this year. Bike of course is sold in 'As Is' Condition. I would love for someone to purchase this and rebuilt it or if needed use it for parts. I was told that you can make some good money in parting out the bike to those Honda buyers that need them. The engines are listing for around $400, along with hundreds of dollars in parting out the rest of the bike like exhausts pipes and gas tank if desired. Many parts for most Honda motorcycles are the same from 1982-1986. The buyer is responsible for all shipping details or it can be locally picked up in Erie, Pennsylvania.
