Vehicle Detail

Beautiful 1965 American La France 900 series fire engine up for auction. This Fire truck was serving the city of Alcoa, TN since brand new, until 2001, when she got decommissioned. Then she was sold to private owner, who had this truck until 2014, when I purchased it from him. Body: Has the original white factory paint. Paint is in OK condition, considering the age of the truck. Some surface rust is present on the truck ( see pictures). There is few very minor dents. Truck has set of 6 brand new tires on it. Engine: Original 29800 miles. Motor fires right up and runs smooth. There is no coolant leak and very minor oil leak is present Brakes: Brakes were overhauled by the previous owner, new booster was installed, they are in excellent working condition. Electric system: Everything works, lights, turn signals, hazards, wipers, emergency lights - all work. Truck is equipped with siren, which also works. All emergency lights are outdated and can not be used for emergency response - they are vintage original lights, in great working condition. Some of the spot lights on the top of the hose bed are not working. Transmission: 4 speed non synchronized manual Pump: engages, runs, primer works. There is considerable leak somewhere around the pump, which causes the pump not to hold the prime. I was told that the pump just needs to be repacked, but I never got to it, as I was never using the pump at all. Equipment: original flashlights in front cabin and rear breeze way, vintage Motorola radio, fire axes, fire hatchet, about 500ft of original fire hose with brass swivels. Hydrant wrench, spanner wrenches, nozzles, hose clamp, adapters etc.. all included with the truck. Two original hard suction hoses. Restored halon fire extinguisher ( not working - just decoration) dated 1965. This truck is so much fun to drive on parades and events. I do not have a room in my barn due to a new project and hate to see it rustying outside. So I decided to let it go to a new home. Please email me with any questions, buyer is responsible for pick up. Truck can be driven away. On Sep-06-15 at 07:34:49 PDT, seller added the following information: UPDATE: I totally forgot to mention that the truck has missing the small triangular window on driver's side and the roll up window is cracked ( but holds together). I'm trying to be honest with the description and this is really issue I totally forgot about, since the window is always rolled down. As always, contact me with any questions before biding. Thank you.
