THIS ORIGINAL RADIO DELETE CORVETTE WAS JUST PURCHASED FROM CALIFORNIA. THE OWNER HAD IT TITLED AT HIS HOME IN IDAHO HENSE THE PLATES. THE BODY WAS REPAINTED SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND SHOWS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. AN ALL NEW WHITE INTERIOR ALONG WITH SEAT COVERS, DOOR PANELS, DASH PAD AND CARPET WAS INSTALLED AT THE SAME TIME. THE 1965 WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR THE BIG BLOCK CORVETTE WITH THE INTRODUCTION OF THE 396/425 Hp TURBO JET ENGINE. ONLY 2157 BIG BLOCK 396 CORVETTES WERE PRODUCED WITH MOST OF THOSE BEING CONVERTIBLES. THIS 1965 CORVETTE IS 1 of 748 COUPES PRODUCED BY CHEVROLET WITH THE BIG BLOCK 396 ENGINE, AND PER MY CALCULATIONS, ITS ONE OF 23 Big BLOCK COUPES WITH THE RADIO DELETE OPTION. ADDITIONAL OPTIONS INCLUDE POWER WINDOWS, SIDE MOUNTED EXHAUST, KNOCK OFF WHEELS WITH RED LINE TIRES AND POSI TRACTION REAREND. THE ENGINE PAD IS STAMPED T06529IF -- 116496 AND CASTING NUMBER IS 3855962 BOTH CORRECT FOR THE CAR. THE REAREND HAS THE CORRECT BIG BLOCK END CAPS ONLY USED IN A BIG BLOCK CAR. THE FRAME AND UNDERSIDE WAS HIGHLY DETAILED AND STILL SHOWS GREAT.
