1966 Ford Fairlane XL 500 Numbers Matching 390 Up for sale by a private seller is a beautiful, factory original, numbers matching, Wimbledon white, Ford Fairlane XL 500 with the optional 390 cu. in. FE engine, automatic transmission, and optional A/C. The Ford is up for sale because of personal reasons. Car originated in Albuquerque, New Mexico as being very solid and “rust free”. This includes the floor boards, and trunk. An entire restoration was done approximately 10 years ago. Since then only 10,000 miles have been put on the odometer. Most of the chrome and moldings have either been replaced or re-plated. The interior and all of the tinted glass is believed to be new. Both the engine and transmission have been rebuilt (see specifics below), and the A/C was recently recharged. This Fairlane draws attention where ever it goes, has plenty of power, and it’s built to be very reliable. Documentation for most of the work performed is included. Please be sure to view ALL photos carefully and ask questions. Special note; the North Dakota tags were just added for effect. You will notice they are dated 1966. BODY & INTERIOR Car appears to have been painted within the past 10 years, in its original Wimbledon White All exterior trim and chrome has either been re-plated or replaced, including the rubber molding. New tinted windows and molding All lights and turn signals function normally. Numbers matching factory Aqua interior was redone and is in excellent condition. Autometer tachometer, volt meter, water temp., and oil pressure all function normally. All factory gauges work including the speedometer (there is a scratch on the lens) Flowmaster mufflers ENGINE & TRANSMISSION Original 390 FE engine has been hot tanked, hone, balanced, and rebuilt. Heads are factory, but were treated to a complete valve job including seals and guides. FOMOCO Aluminum medium riser intake manifold. Holley 750 carburetor Pertronics distributor Crane Cams Hi intensity hydraulic roller cam with 280 duration and 515 intake and exhaust at .050. C-6 automatic transmission with B&M shift kit and “Mileage Master” converter. New driveshaft universal joints SUSPENSION & DIFFERENTIAL Rebuilt front suspension New brakes and hardware Rear springs were re-arched. Differential is a 9” Ford unit w/28 spline axles, posi-traction and 3.50:1 gears (changed from the original 3.00:1) American Torque Thrust wheels with BF Goodrich P225/70 R15 on the rear and P205/70R15 General’s on the front PLEASE NOTE I AM SELLING THIS CAR FOR A PRIVATE PARTY…..ALL QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED….
