Restorable 1972 VW Super Beetle. Has new battery, new muffler, license valid until March 2016 in California. Car starts easily and is drivable however any prospective bidder should consider that all car/engine features need TLC, adjustment, repair or replacement to be fully and legally functional/safe. The battery charging system is functional and does keep the battery charged. There is a receipt in the glove box indicating that the engine was rebuilt in 2009 at 43693 miles. The odometer is functioning and currently indicates 49650 miles. Whether the engine has 6000 or 206,000 miles since overhaul I don't know. The engine seems to run well but does have an oil leak. The transmission shifts though the gears, but would suggest that the linkage needs some work. Brakes seem OK but I would flush the lines. There is the almost expected hole under the battery. Steering wheel has excessive play exceeding 3 inches, with a clunk at the right end when it meets resistance. A violent shake occurs at about 30 MPH. Please email questions.
