This started out as a well cared for one owner Alabama car in impeccable original cosmetic condition inside an out. Then the build to end all builds commenced. I sourced a Euro Spec 5.0 Litre 117 engine of the same vintage, completely disassembled for complete rebuild. All gaskets, seals, bearings, rings, valve guides, timing chain components have been replaced. It doesn't burn or leak a drop of oil. I completely rebuilt the fuel delivery system, new hoses, pump, relay, fuel distributor, injectors, refurbished and lined tank. I completely rebuilt the cooling system, new waterpump, hoses, radiator, thermostat and fan clutch. I completely rebuilt the 722.3 automatic transmission, replaced all gaskets, seals, clutches, bands, all updates were performed to the servos. I completely rebuilt the suspension, all new links, mounts, billstein heavy duty shocks, bushings, steering gear. I completely rebuilt the brake system, calipers, pads, rotors and master cylendar. I completely rebuilt the drive line, new center support, flex discs, u joint and balancing. The complete exhaust has been replaced and the cat eliminated since this car no longer needs emission inspections. All 5 tires have been replaced. All electrical interior switches have been replaced. A/C has been converted to R134 A and works perfectly with new compressor, expansion valve and drier. Wood is in excellent condition. Sunvisors and floormats have been replaced. Convertible top is brand new. Everything works. Hard Top is included along with stand and covers. The Euro 500 engine produces almost 300hp and gobs of torque, coupled with the lower ratio 380 rear end means that despite the badge on the rear. The 1983 model year is one of the best to own because you have the vintage appointments of the 450 Sl but a climate control system that works. It also boasts Bosch CIS injection without all of the restrictive interference of the emission controls with the 560 SL. This car drives perfect and has no issues.
