It is the real deal. Recently arrived at our shop. This is NOT a replica. We just found this '38 Ford V8 powered, 2-passenger steel-bodied Boat-tail Speedster race car, here in Alabama. The car was nearly all restored, but work had stalled due to the owner having health problems. The car was being completed with the intention of being used on both street and track. Just back from the upholstery shop, it is listed here, before continuing with completion of restoration details ALL reasonable OFFERS Considered While the car was at the upholstery shop, we have learned from a vintage oval track collector, that the car was built and raced in the early 50's by Jake Banks of Banks Auto Parts, Huntsville Alabama. Mr Banks died in 1988., and the car was later sold by his Estate. We continue to look for more information and early pictures. this car is for sale at shop, and listing may end at any time, The V8 motor starts easily, and runs VERY well. Clutch, brakes, and steering are good, and the car is fun to drive. Will need an appropriate gauge panel, and completion of interior and lights, etc. There is a functioning panel, but it is so the car may be run, but had not been finished. The tires are decent, , but they should be replaced before serious use.
