1969 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE The restoration of this 1969 Ford Mustang convertible has been started but I do not have the time to complete this so listing it for sale. The floor pans have already been replaced and the bumpers have been professionally re-chromed. The seats have been reupholstered. The car was orginally teal green, but now it is primer coat. The hood is off but in excellent shape. This sale includes several new parts acquired from catalogs and swap meets. Parts included are: MUSTANG letters, new dashboard, boxed NOS chrome trim for the fake side vents, a spare side vent, an original spare instrument housing, center console and front grille. Also included are the owners manual and sales brochures for the 1969 Mustang. The original 6 cylinder engine is long gone, but rebuilt Ford Windsor (not Cleveland) V8 is ready to be installed. Additional work and parts still needed include: passenger door bottom still has rust, chrome trim parts around front windshield need replacing (these come up a lot on ebay), top fabric and convertible motor and top accessories are needed and the trim that would overhang the top of the windshield on the convertible top should be replaced, holes in front shock towers are welded closed, and the inside corners of trunk drip rails were cut by the previous owner presumably to remove rust and need to be replaced. I will also include the original replacement corners for the trunk gutter so all that needs doing is to cut to size and weld in place. It will need a transmission to go with the V8 (a C-4?). Finally, if you are going to fully restore this car, some of the chromed plastic trim parts should be replaced. All are available from Mustang Parts Unlimited. Additional New comments: The engine is in fact a Windsor, not a Clevland as previously reported. It looks like the torque boxes were rebuilt at some point. Someone asked about those and a viewing this weekend came to that conclusion. It also appears that the trunk floor pan is a new replacement as the loop for holding down the spare tire is not there. I am adding photos to show the cut out trunk corners and the replacement pieces to repair those points. Also holes were cut in both the front and back of the front shock towers to access the grease joints at some point. We previously reported just the fronts above. Not pictured but included are boxes of extra components including the drive shaft, window glass for side windows, original brakes but they should replaced. plastic trim, rear view mirror, brake booster, air filter, wiring harness (but I would do a new one), etc. Please see all the photos.
