Vehicle Detail

I bought this 1969 Camaro SS a few years ago from a guy in Las Vegas who had owned it since 1976. He says it was a real SS and everything I researched on it says that it is. It is an early production car so there is no "X" code on the trim tag, but it has power disc brakes, stock return fuel line, factory dual exhaust brackets...all SS stuff. It also has a paint pen marking behind the rear seat that says "Lg5" which, according to a Camaro research sight, means that the "Lg" is the interior color (Light green, but it's been dyed to black) and the "5" signifies an X55 car, which is an SS. The engine blew up in the late 70s so he had a Chevrolet dealer install a new 350 long block but it has the original intake and a Quadrajet on it. The 12-bolt rearend went out and was replaced with a 10-bolt open rear somewhere in that time frame as well. He admitted that he did not baby the car. In 1979 he had the funky paint job done and it still looks quite good. I was going to have it repainted but never did. It was originally Rally Green with a white vinyl top and a white hockey stick stripe and a light green interior. He parked it in the early 80s and never drove it again until he put it for sale. He claimed that the 32K miles are actual, but I have no proof of that. I put a new clutch in it and a new stock SS dual exhaust system on it. A local restoration shop looked at it for me and said it would be a very nice car to restore and that they would probably only replace the trunk lid due to some bubbling on the rear edge and the passengers side rear 1/4 panel due to some slight bubbling and old body filler around the wheelwell. It is a solid car and the parking brake even works. The wiring has never been butchered up and all the lights work as well.
