THIS IS THE KIND OF TAURUS SHO COLLECTORS DREAM OF FINDING! They made 2900 white SHO’s in 1990 and only 784 had all Lt. Sandlewood leather interiors! It has to be one of the finest GEN 1 SHO’s in the country! This amazing “survivor”, all original, numbers matching, 1990 Ford Taurus SHO with 59,000 original miles on it has had a total of 2 owners in its 25 year pampered life. I am the 2nd owner as of June 2015. So really, it’s basically a ONE OWNER car! The original owner purchased this SHO BRAND NEW from Jim Glick Ford in Tuscon, Arizona in September 1990, where it remained its entire life. Now, on to the description of this gorgeous vehicle. This Ford Taurus SHO was never smoked in, was sparingly driven (as I said, it currently has just over 59,000 original miles), lovingly cared for and always garaged since new. Not only does it look new, it drives like new! The original owner’s manual is still in the glove box. I have all kinds of original documentation including a copy of the original title, the original window sticker, build sheet, original dealer purchase paperwork and brochures, and 2 sets of original keys with the original dealer license plate frame and keychain! I have some of the receipts from the original owner validating the mileage and a list of items done to the car from the person I bought if from. This 1990 SHO is now being made available to some very lucky person. The only reason I’m selling it is because I have my eye on another classic car I found. If it doesn’t sell, I’m perfectly OK with hanging on to it. This SHO was never hit and everything is in excellent factory original condition. All the lights (including the fog lights), turn signals, horn, gauges wipers etc. are in perfect working order. Even the power antenna works perfectly. No electrical issues at all. The white paint (which is 100% factory original and rubber trim are all in excellent condition. This car handles beautifully and holds the road nice and straight at 40 MPH or 70 MPH. No pulling at all and is very tight and responsive. The car tracks straight. The brakes work beautifully with no issues at all. This SHO rides on a very good matching set of Yokohama tires with lots of tread left. They are mounted to the original factory wheels which look brand new with zero curb rash or defects. The exterior is incredible! The ALL original white color still shines like new! It honestly looks a 1 year old car. It has a few tiny (and I mean TINY) nicks here and there on the lower front fascia but from 5 feet away, they are hardly noticeable. That’s it! Not a ding, dent or scratch ANYWHERE on this car. The floors, frame and trunk areas as well as under the hood and trunk are all solid and rust free with no signs or rot anywhere. Remember, it’s an ARIZONA car. Same for all the door jams and under the doors (see pictures). NO RUST!! The underneath looks brand new. The exhaust system is the original factory dual exhaust system. No issues at all. It still has the original shocks and struts. It takes the bumps very well and there is no excess drifting or bouncing while driving. Everything is still nice and firm. The steering and front end is still nice and tight and responsive like a new car would be. The trunk compartment is in perfect condition with its original trunk carpet in tact and ZERO RUST. All the glass is perfect. The windows were tinted when the car was new (have receipt) and the tint is in perfect condition. Not a bubble in it anywhere, which is even more proof this car was garaged its whole life. No chips or cracks in the glass at all. All the doors open and close effortlessly, just as new and all the door jams look new as well. NO RUST anywhere here. But that’s just the beginning! The stunning Lt. Sandlewood ALL LEATHER interior is absolutely breathtaking and 100% original! Nothing has been modified or “cut up” in any way. This was a NON SMOKING car. It smells brand new still. It looks exactly as it did back in 1990 and looks brand new. The leather seats, door panels, seat backs, carpet, headliner (no sagging, fading or rips), dash pad (no cracks or fading), rear package tray (no cracks or fading) and trim pieces are excellent. The steering wheel even looks brand new! This interior is, for all intensive purposes, in brand new original condition. This SHO is equipped with the original AM/FM stereo cassette with JBL audio system (6 speakers), power steering, power disc brakes with ABS, electric clock, power windows, power locks, dual power seats….all working perfectly. See picture of window sticker for complete list of options. The A/C blows ice cold and still retains its original R12 system. The heat works great with no issues. This SHO has the original 3.0 V6 Yamaha 24 Valve engine hooked to a MANUAL 5 speed transmission. Both perform as new. Absolutely no knocking, smoking or hesitation from the engine and the transmission shifts through the gears like a new car. No leaks anywhere and no burning of any oil. It’s very smooth with no problems at all. There are absolutely no issues with overheating. I recently brought this car to the Woodward Dream Cruise and “cruised” in 2 hours straight of bumper to bumper traffic just idling in 80+ degree heat and the car didn’t miss a beat. No overheating and stayed in the low end of the “normal” temperature range the whole time. Some recent things done by me and the previous owner are: 2014 - New battery 2015 - New aftermarket Pioneer AM/FM/CD/iPod Head Unit (not pictured since it was installed after pics were taken). NOTHING was cut up at all. I have the original stereo still which can easily be put back in if the next owner wants). The cassette didn’t work and only AM came in well. FM wasn’t very strong. I see no reason why the winning bidder couldn’t fly in and drive this vehicle home to anywhere in the country. As everybody knows, nothing is perfect. The blend door actuator needs to be replaced. I have the part. The labor is not cheap. My local Ford dealer quoted me $650 in labor to fix it. The dash has to be pulled back to get to it. HOWEVER, the previous owner set it up so you can manually control the blend door from under the dash very easily. Again, the AC is ice cold and the heat works just fine. All the controls on the dash panel work fine as well including the auto temp controls. You just have to manually control the blend door if you want AC or heat. Not a big deal really. The low coolant sensor comes on intermittently. Not an issue, The coolant is not low, it's just the sensor. I just unplug the sensor if it bothers me.
