Vehicle Detail

BUY IT NOW---if you pay immediately, I will deduct a bit from final bid. Offered for your consideration is a solid frame, solid body, acceptable interior 1970 Karmann Ghia for restoration project. It needs a new engine and some transmission work. I am not exceedingly mechanically-inclined and my new coaching positions do not allow me the time to tinker. There are new parts, some still in original boxes. I enjoyed this car for quite a few years after I purchased it from a seller in Washington, which, at that time, was a daily driver. I had it shipped to me in Colorado, and, in turn to Texas where it is now. I went on vacation in July 2013 and when I returned, it would not run. My mechanic had it and he said that it threw a rod while he had it, attempting to work on it. He also stated that he thought he may have dropped something into the oil. Nonetheless, it has been sitting, covered, for almost two years to the day. The previous owner 'cleaned up the dash (as seen in images) and put the knobs underneath. The stereo has been removed. I know it also needs the hood cable installed (there is a new one included.) The hood does not latch, but should be an easy fix. The fuse box needs a remount too. Not urgent. The glass is good all the way around. The previous owners put new glass seals in the car and the glue seeps, and needs to be cleaned from time to time.Just needs a good cleaning all around. The interior has not been abused, although neglected. It is a solid shell and will make someone a good driver--eventually. It was fast enough to get me in trouble when it was running! It will need new tires. I think it would be great lowered with some wider rims and tires for a meatier stance. I like the car and wish I had more time and money to dedicate to it, so my loss is your gain here. I need to sell it within the next few days for a trip to Memphis. Please email with any questions, and if I can answer them, I surely will. As I stated, I am not a mechanic, but will do my best! Shipping must be arranged and paid for by buyer. I will help any way I can and will be lenient as far as time for pick-up. I do require immediate deposit of $500 which is non-refundable, with the remainder being due within 72 hours---cashiers check---sent by USPS Overnight Service. Serious bidders only, please. Thanks for looking and good luck! On Jul-17-15 at 06:15:54 PDT, seller added the following information: Will need ignition switch reconnected. Also has toggle switch.Theis is the most watchers I have ever had on an auction in thousands of transactions, so please consider placing a ceiling bid. Being 'sniped' at auction's end is no fun! Thanks again for looking and good luck! I will be available today @ 903-427-1045, but gone most of the day tomorrow (Saturday) the day of auction closing. Enjoy your day!
