You want to ride something different? You want to ride a bike everyone wants to talk about? Well here it is. Needless to say there is not another one like it anywhere. I call it a GL1000 Super Sport. It is set up for riding comfort. Spend all day in the saddle and get off with your back intact. The last bike I built was a Café Racer and I sure couldn't say that about it! The bike has about 400 miles on it since the makeover. All the gauges and switches are in working order. Mechanically it is very sound. It is a bit fussy when started cold but after a 10 minute warm up it runs great. The paint is new but there are some cloudy areas in the silver paint that are not consistent with the rest of the paint job. These variances are hard to see in the photos but it is important that I note that the paint is not perfect. With all that said the paint job is still one of the eye-catching parts of the bike.I put this bike together in my personal workshop. Not thrown together in a garage but rather constructed in a fully outfitted shop with all the necessary tools to do the job correctly. I probably have over 150 hours of labor in this build. At a shop rate of $75/hour that would equate to over $11,000 in labor if I put this bike together and charged by the hour. So needless to say I am not going to get rich selling this bike. In fact, I am going to lose a lot of money on it. However, I need to sell it because I came across an awesome Honda CBX that is just crying out to be restored. And if you know anything about CBX restorations they are expensive. So I am grudgingly selling this bike to fund that project. So what did I do to this GL1000?
