I have a 1951 Caddy, Series 62, 2 door hardtop. This car is a running project and can be restored to original or would make a great lead sled. This is an all original, numbers matching car with the original 331 CI engine. I was told that this car was sitting in a barn for over 30 years and when I got it, and the engine was locked up. I got the engine free and it is in running condition and does drive, but, would have to be trailered home as it has not been driven any kind of distance. The transmission fluid was just changed and a new rear seal installed and is shifting through all gears. Full set of Coker Classic 4" wide white walls on gloss black painted 15" steel wheels. Complete new braking system including master, all hard and rubber brake lines, wheel cylinders and shoes. I got all the lights working except the reverse and gauge lights. Car is mostly complete, all the dash is there and original including the radio. The car has a brand new battery and is still a 6V system. Exterior of body is mostly solid, some surface rust, BUT, floor pans DO have rust inside passenger compartment and trunk and will at least need patches or be fully replaced. I have started sanding the surface rust on the drivers side, that is why it is black primer on door and quarter. Drivers window glass is cracked, rest of glass is solid and in ok condition, some delamination. I have more parts not shown in pictures. Doors, hood and trunk all open and close perfectly. I have a 5 gallon gas can set up as a temporary gas tank because I was planning on removing the tank and having it professionally flushed. I bought the car to make a sled out of but I was injured at work and I will not be able to follow through with my plans at this time. I would rather see someone continue working on it, than let it sit waiting till I can get to it. I am only selling to help pay medical bills. **This car just won 1st place "ORIGINAL" at the TNT Redneck Car Show on 6/6/2015** Trophy is last picture (car was trailered to show and driven in) I HAVE TITLE IN MY NAME, IN MY HAND, 1951 CADILLAC WITH ORIGINAL VIN NUMBER! The car was put together so I could take it to the Viva Las Vegas rockabilly car show on 4/4/15, and it was a big hit with the crowd. It was one of only two 1950's caddy coupes (plenty of 4 door sedans). I trailered the car to Vegas, drove the car into the show and out again afterwards. This is NOT a concourse restoration, and this car has NOT been restored, it was just put together to drive and have fun with. Interior was done in a cheetah fleece material which received numerous compliments and there were many pin up models taking pictures in it at the show. The original interior color was grey, exterior black. Most of the chrome has rust spots and/or holes in it, most of the stainless trim is in excellent condition, it is missing the spears on the front fenders and the hood ornament. With a little more work, the car can be fun to drive on weekends to local car shows or it is a great candidate for a full restoration or hot rod. The car is registered and titled in my name.
