Vehicle Detail

This is a two owner vehicle, purchased by me from the original owners just a few months ago. Half jesting, I told one of my clients that I’d love to buy it if they ever sold it, as they purchased it new. When the husband passed away last year, at age 93 his wife gave up her license and approached me to to ‘take me up on my offer’ to buy their baby. The German couple treated this car with fantastic care. I have put just 280 miles on it since my purchase. It has been kept garaged its entire life (my home as well), the seats have always been protected by sheepskins (original seat material is outstanding). The carpets were protected by three sets of mats. The original carpet is without blemish. The first set of mats is the set provided by Lloyd of Hollywood for Mercedes dealers, tagged, embroidered and original. The seat panels, A-pillars, headliner and dash are free of cracks, blemishes or damage. Most importantly, the entire car (body, chrome, glass, interior, trunk and engine) reflect a consistent original and outstanding condition. I’ve had the good fortune to own many vehicles, but I’ve never purchased one that was so fastidiously cared for. The body paint and panels, along with the rubber on the car are excellent. Small amounts of touch up have been done over the years (I have the correct touch—up paint given to me by the original owners), and the car is free of dents except for one tiny one down low on the passenger side door that is not visible unless you are inspecting the body from an angle and look carefully for it. All trim is correct and beautiful. The car has 99,125 miles, and they are all well-documented. The couple saved most all of the service orders from the car, which was serviced right here in Salem Oregon where we live. Work was completed by either the Mercedes dealer or our local German Mercedes specialist, Prestige Motors. Once I purchased the car, I drove it for a few miles and meanwhile studied the service orders and took the car to Prestige Motors. I had new tires put on the car, brake pads replaced, and a number of small items attended to. Since then I’ve kept it garaged and clean, driving it about 280 miles total. Both my father and brother own this 123 series Mercedes and they LOVE them. I’m just not in that camp. As beautiful and pristine as the car is, it does not press my buttons. It drives fantastic, is quiet and comfortable, but I love sports cars and sports sedans. This is neither and was never intended to be. If you are seeking a forever-car that has been kept as close to new as you’ll likely ever find, this car will satisfy you. I’m fussy about the cars I purchase and the reason I bought this one was because it had been stored, maintained and operated with great care all of its days. The price is fair and I’d expect someone seeking the ‘best’ is going to consider it a deal they are glad they were able to make.
