I bought this truck through an estate sale and I will describe it the best I can. I have the California title in my name and it is clear and clean. The previous owner passed away and I don't have any history on it except the owner's son said he loved the truck and it would crawl up anything. It had been sitting since 2004 when I acquired it. The first thing I did was remove the gas tank to have it professionally boiled out and sealed. I then installed a new filler-neck hose, fuel lines, fuel sending unit, and a new fuel filter. There were no keys available so I had a brand new ignition key and tumbler as well as new door locks installed with brand new keys made. I then checked the engine for compression and determined no problems; it was like new. Looking at the engine it appears to have been rebuilt. There is no oil on it only nice blue paint. I then filled the tank with gas and the truck started right up. No smoking, no knocking an no noises. There was a small vacuum leak at the EGR valve, so I replaced it with a new one and with a few adjustments to the carburetor it is running great. It starts on the first time every time, hot or cold. It has a straight 6 cylinder. According to the internet, this is a 300 cubic inch, 4.9 liter engine. I've driven it over 100 miles, even in the 100 degree temperature here, with no problems. It even passed the strict California emissions test the first time. It has a four speed transmission with a granny low that shifts great. I put it in 4-wheel drive and it works fine. I don't know what kind of transfer case it has, but it is a steal cased one which I've heard most people prefer. Tires are in great shape and the truck travels down the road at highway speeds with no problems. Although I have not inspected them, the power disk breaks stop the truck without any pulling. After I got the truck running perfectly, I replaced the carpet, the door panels and the door whether stripping and put a new seat cover on the bench seat. It can use a new steering wheel center piece. The dome lights and gauges work like they should with the exception of the speedometer which is inaccurate. Although the odometer is working just fine. This truck also has very rare factory air-conditioning. However, it is not blowing cold air, but the heater and the vents all work fine. Except for the KC lights, the exterior lights are in working order, along with the turn signals. Some of the dash lights do not work. This truck is not hiding any rust with bondo. The amazing thing about this truck is it has its original paint. It does have chips and dings and shows normal wear for its age. There is some bubbling on top of the cab in a small area near the passenger-side gutter rail and some flaking in the bed, but nothing is rusted clear through. I have more pictures if you are seriously considering this truck. This truck is located 30 minutes north of Sacramento, California.
