Vehicle Detail
CALIFORNIA 1981 VW pickup LX 5 Speed caddy with factory A/C @ $1 with NO reserve! Call for details. 209-606-3749. NO TEXT PLEASE… PLEASE READ DISCRIPTION as I’ve tried to detail this truck very thoroughly. THE TONAU COVER IS NOT INCLUDED! Please do not ask. I didn’t have time to remove before photo’s. This is a rare and special 1981 loaded LX 5 speed pickup with 3 gauge console, tachometer, Scirocco steering wheel, and rare factory A/C! It was obviously the crowning jewel of this local VW pickup collector/restorer. I purchased these 3 trucks from a local estate sale. It is the 3RD and last truck, but by far the cleanest, most complete and highly optioned in the bunch. The odometer reads 128,899! It has sat indoors, protected from the elements since 1998 in a climate controlled warehouse, (not out in a cold & wet field) …since 1998!... 15+ YEARS!. . . almost half of its life! It has obvious signs of an ongoing and through restoration. It is an excellent fixer/restorer and is sold in parts car status. The strut towers and usual rust areas are excellent; I have found 0 structural rust. Original factory, blue/grey metallic paint, straight & solid, West coast body that is original. The bed shows unusually light use. The interior and highly optioned LX package and is in far above average condition. It shows some seat wear & head liner sag, but otherwise very low wear overall. The dash is exceptional cond. I can find no cracks or tears. The engine appears very original and clean! New timing, alternator & A/C belts. Has Monroe gas adjust shocks. This Caddy is truly an exceptional builder and a solid west coast candidate to fix up or restore or leave as a parts car. It will need items such as R wing window, tail light, windshield and other misc. to complete. The engine looks very complete, minus a battery. I have no reason to believe the engine was not in as good of condition as the rest of this vehicle, when it was tucked away. This is not a perfect restored truck but just about as rust and dent free original condition as they come. No covered up rot with cheap paint job What you see is what you get. It comes with bill of sale, NO pink slip as the family couldn't locate it. I am selling these rare trucks, in as is condition, just as I bought these “barn finds”. I will work with the buyers shipping arrangements as best as possible but shipping arrangements will ultimately be the buyer’s responsibility to set up. I will respond to questions promptly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Solid straight optioned LX "central valley" California truck, rust free as they come Misc. It had the center console guages, the awesome decals, and the recaro seats. I had a sportruck, and that's about the difference. Garry
