Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE 1958 dodge W300 Power Wagon This is a very rare truck-only 194 produce This One Ton has some rare options such as: optional running boards, wrap-around big rear window, 9 foot utiline step-side bed with factory oak boards still in place. Factory twin 25 gallon saddle fule tanks, factory power brake booster assist, original Dualmatic hubs, original 8” x 19.5” tubeless Bubb wheels. The interior is original and in good shape. The body is in good shape the only rust in the bottom of the doors, the front corners of the floor and a little around the windshield. The bottom of the truck was undercoated and has held up very well. The undercoating is pealing but there is no rust. It has the factory heavy-duty Spicer 70 series axels with a 4.89 gear ratio. The original engine was a 315 V8 I believe. It now has a late model inline 6-cylinder diesel. It look like it was professionally installed, looks original and at home in the engine bay. The tranny is the familiar N.P. 201 series twin stick. This 365 cubic inch Isuzu I-6 came out of the track hoe I have been told. It was imported by Isuzi Heavy Duty Diesel Engines Corp. in 1978. You will be impressed with this engine and how well it performs. It has a net 120 hp at 3300 RPM’s and revs up freely, it starts right up every time even in cold weather and easily cruises at 60 mph with no problems even with on hills. It also gets great gas mileage around 17 mpg. The diesel engine is small and fuel-efficient and with the gears in the truck you will be impressed with its drivability. I have put several miles on it and have made several trips to OKC pulling a camper. I have also pulled a trailer with a car on it and it did very well. I had some issues with the fuel system. It was running good and then would lose its prime and die, I finally found out there was rust in the tank. I thought there was a problem with the lift pump. I pulled the piston out of the mechanical pump and ran an electric pump. I pulled one of the tanks and pore 15 lined it. Solved the problem and ran good. But then the electric pump went out and I replaced it with one I had. But I think it was a high pressure pump, the engine would try to runaway. I replaced the pump again with a low pressure pump. But it still has the same problem. It starts right up and will idle for about 30sec and then try to runaway. I think there must be a bad seal in the injection pump. I just don't hive time to work on it. I also think the steering gear box needs rebuilt or replaced. It will start shaking and you have to come to almost a complete stop to get it to stop shaking. The doors are the worse part, a little on the edge of the floor boards and left side of the dash, the battery tray. But over all it is in real good shape. I have been collecting these trucks for a long time. You just don't see very many 1958 dodge trucks. I have a nice set of doors i will thrown in for an extra $350 to the winning bider.
