This is a truly stunning and beautiful 1964 Galaxie 500 XL. She is super straight and rust free. Originally from Utah. I think the gold and white finish is one of the most rare and classiest color combinations I’ve ever seen on a Galaxie. She has her original big block motor that fires the instant you turn the key and absolutely purrs. She is an awesome cruiser and has plenty of power when you need to step on it! I bought her a few years ago and upgraded a few things (most notably the engine compartment detail) but basically I’ve just enjoyed driving her to local cruise-ins and shows where she has won a couple of trophies. She always draws a lot of attention where ever she goes from both young and old admirers alike. The interior/glass and trunk are all excellent. I tried to show their condition in the photos. The crowning jewel on this Galaxie has to be the engine compartment. It is truly a work of art. I used all correct color coded paint and decals in the under hood restoration. The motor is the stock 352 with a four barrel carb upgrade and an electronic ignition conversion. It runs super strong and never misses a beat. I’ve always loved the looks of the 390 motors with their gold paint so when I did the restoration I dressed it as a 390 including the 390 4bbl air cleaner and identification. The odometer reads 39k but I can not swear it is original, although everything is super clean and in proper working order. She is an excellent driver but not a 100 point show car. There are a few scratches/chips here and there and she does show her age in some spots for being a 50+ year old vehicle. The chrome and stainless are decent but they could use a little TLC. She is very clean and sound structurally and mechanically. Cosmetically she is very nice but by no means perfect. She is a super sweet cruiser you can just hop in, fire her up and enjoy the ride! I have several cars in my collection and just don’t have the time to drive them all. She needs to go to a good home where she can be driven regularly and appreciated.
