Vehicle Detail
1968 Ford Mustang, Fastback, under restoration, 75% finished. This vehicle has been in the dry southwest since 1968. I have the original Texas Registration Title, free of liens or issues. All metal panels are known to be original. No signs of physical damage. Trunk floor, floor metal supports and body panels are all *rust free* as seen on photos. *Both front toe board panels have sustained minimal rust damage as seen in photos. Will need replacement or repair. Rust damage limited to these 2 areas only. Originally J code equipped with 302 V8, 4 transmission. Clutch pedals still in place. Currently being sold with car is a 351W from the 80's era and an automatic A40D Transmission. Both engine and transmission are complete but unknown on condition. No evidence of major damage ( no cracks, both assemblies rotate freely, no water in oil, etc.) Original Engine and transmission are gone and not available. Body was professionally prepped and painted in Highland Green color, using 2 stage base coat and clear coat. Body prep was minimal with mostly requiring only typical door dings repairs. There is evidence of a right rear lower quarter panel skin being replaced by previous owner. Looks well done and required no additional work. Car was originally Lime Gold. Upgrades to the interior include the following: new door panels, new headliner, insulation pad between liner and top, new lenses and gauges to instrument panel cluster. Dash pad is in good shape. Comes with aftermarket CD player and rear mounted speakers installed by previous owner. Original wiring harness looks unmodified, in good condition and all connected to its power source or power destination. Dash buttons all in place. Heater, wiper motors and hardware all in place and functional. Front windshield glass and rear glass replaced with new and new rubber seals installed, as well. Door glass hardware all in position and operate properly. New key and locks for doors and ignition switch. Nice tight closing and fit on doors and trunk lid. Has a new aftermarket steering wheel. Original steering was not on car when last acquired. Exterior chrome trim all replaced or polished, to include new tail light lens. Wheels are Cory Shelby wheels, of 17x9 in front and 18 by 9 in the rear. Differential is a Ford 8 inch unit. unknown of internals, gear type, carrier. All front and rear suspension parts look original but in great condition. Front brakes have been upgraded with aftermarket disc brake kit. No visible damage on suspension frame rails or suspension components. Gas tank is nice. This is what the car needs at a minimum, to complete: Carpet, front bumper, radiator, upholstery on front and rear seats (original seats, good frames and springs), prepare engine and transmission for install, install rear bumper, install minor chrome body trim already available and included in sale of car. Overall a clean, complete southwest car requiring minimal work to complete restoration. Please ask any questions for any additional information, prior to biding.
