Vehicle Detail

1993 Dodge Power Ram 250 4X4 Club Cab Pickup. Only 58,968 original miles. Purchased new by a municipal diesel mechanic and set up to carry a slide in type camper and used only to travel during retirement. The original owner passed away and the truck has been used very sparingly in the last 10 years for camping, moving or to haul the occasional load of firewood. It was purchased with all the creature comforts available at the time: Power windows, locks, cruise control, The original R12 air conditioning still blows cold! It was originally equipped with a bench seat, which is in the back of the truck, but I found the matching bucket seats and console in a junkyard and converted it. You can see from the original window sticker that it has HD transmission, HD transfer case and factory upgraded suspension to 8510 pound GVWR. This was the heaviest duty pickup truck available in its day. The body has NO ROT. The undercarriage has a layer of surface rust all over. There is no body damage but there are a few scrapes and scratches, especially on the top of the sides of the bed from the camper being loaded on and off. The truck runs excellent. It starts every time with just a touch of the key. It has no squeaks or rattles. Brakes are good. Tires are fair. The bad (not much): The front end wanders on the highway. It has a small oil leak. It has a power steering leak. It has surface rust on the hood and roof. The headliner has been removed because it was hanging down. The radio doesn't work. It is driveable the way it is, but since its spent most of the last 10 years sitting, it needs to be gone through but nothing major. The truck is currently registered in New Hampshire. NH does not issue titles for vehicles over 15 years old so there is no title. It will be sold with a Bill of Sale and registration. On May-30-15 at 08:46:39 PDT, seller added the following information: I added some pictures of the undercarriage. As you can see, there is a layer of surface rust on the frame and suspension. There are a few small spots of surface rust on some of the sheet metal, primarily where there are spot welds and hardware, but overall the body is ridiculously rust free, not even a rust bubble on the cab corners or rockers which are notorious places for rot to form. Very, very solid and save-able. The truck was ordered with the factory rust preventative, as you can see from the window sticker, and it was definitely worth it. A thorough pressure wash and some preventative measures will insure that "Big Blue" lasts for a long, long time. I had the good fortune to visit the Cummins Engine Development Facility in Columbus, Indiana for work a few years back. I met some of the engineers who had actually worked on the project with Dodge back in the 80's to install the very first 5.9 diesel in a pickup. They told me that this engine is capable of putting out over 400 HP by bolting on a bigger fuel pump, larger injectors and a bigger turbocharger. This engine, which puts out only 160 HP is literally capable of going 500,000 miles because it is so "underpowered". I wish it to be known that I profit nothing from this sale. The money is going directly to the heir of the original owner. The purchaser is getting a lot of truck for the money.
