Vehicle Detail

For your consideration I present this beautiful 2001 Volkswagen Cabrio Convertible. It has a 2.0 Liter 1984CC 121 Cubic Inch, Naturally Aspirated, Single Overhead Cam.I bought this car last year for my daughter's birthday with the understanding that she would keep her grades up and stay out of trouble, but she decided that partying with her friends was more important than academics. So now someone else can enjoy it, its the perfect car for the college kid, great on gas, fun and sporty, and very affordable for a convertible. I always thought that convertibles didn't make much sense because you could only drive it for half the year here in Wisconsin, but I drove it several times this past winter and it was surprisingly excellent on the snowy, icy roads. And it stayed warm in there....I only mention this because I was under the impression that convertibles wouldn't hold their heat as well, but there was no drafts and no air pockets that I could find. I stored it in the garage every day and spent most of the winter tinkering on it.....I flushed all the fluids and did some break work and exhaust repair. The interior is immaculate! Black carpeting throughout the interior and seats look they were just installed. No tears or stains anywhere inside the car, very nice looking for any age. The only issue inside the car is the glove compartment handle is broke/missing. It still opens with the help of a small screwdriver. I'm going to check with a friend of mine who works at a salvage yard, to see if he can find a replacement handle, otherwise it shouldn't be very costly to fix this. The exterior is not perfect but is certainly acceptable for a car this price and age. A couple of small dings and scratches in the body, which you'd expect with a 2001. In the rear bumper, on the left side, there is a scrape on the corner (see pictures). No damage to the actual bumper, just the paint is scraped and if you look closely you can see where the paint has small chips in it. It looks like somebody backed into a pole or something. Again, there is no damage to the actual bumper, it's just an aesthetic imperfection. An easy fix if you can find a matching black glossy paint. You'd simply have to sand down the small area and repaint it. I was going to fix it myself but thought I'd be better of leaving it and disclosing it here because I didn't want it to look like a "cover up". If I didn't do a good job on the paint it might actually look worse than it does now. It's really not that noticeable, I just wanted to bring it to your attention. It has a rebuilt title and not a salvage title....What this means is that the title had at one time been a salvage. The necessary repairs were made and the state safety inspections were completed in order to have the title upgraded to "rebuilt". I also want to make it clear that there are no leans on the car. I'm not quite sure why it only got a score of 23, this must be based on the history of the car and not its current condition?
