1990 Chevrolet Caprice Superior Hearse ***NO RESERVE*** Body: The body appears to be better than average with no obvious signs of rust. There are some small scuffs and bruises but overall it is in nice shape. The paint (emerald green metallic) is shinny with a few scratches that won't show in the pictures. I see no sign of collision damage. The glass is good with 2 very small marks in the front windshield. The chrome is above average. The padded vinyl top is not cracked and has not shrunk or dried out. Interior: the interior is complete and original, the dash is not cracked and the rear compartment is in very good condition and has all rollers and pins. The head liner and divider are also very good. Mechanical: The engine and transmission are strong and work well with no strange noises or smoke. The car starts and runs smooth, the air conditioning works but could be cooler. The exhaust is quiet and the tires have ample tread. There is a clunk when you hit a big bump so the front shocks may need to be replaced or a spring may be weak. The battery is strong and there is an under hood power kill switch. History: This car is from a small town funeral home and as such has had an easy life. I rent cars for film and TV and I bought this car to fill an order from a studio. When the car was not on a film location it is stored in a warehouse. I am retiring now and have sold my storage building and will be selling off many of the cars. Overall: I believe the car is in very good condition for its age, because it is a Chevrolet instead of a Cadillac the cost of maintaining the vehicle is very low and if you were to customize it, it is way less expensive to do than a Cadillac or Lincoln and much rarer. The colour is very unusual and looks fantastic. If your looking for a hearse that won't cost a fortune to by or own than this may be the car for you. The car was built by Superior who is perhaps the best of the coach builders. The reason I'm selling the car with no reserve is because I'm serious about selling it and if I put a reserve at what I feel it is truly worth it may not sell. I can help find a shipper (or you could fly in and drive it home) and help with the paperwork if the car is being shipped to the US as I am familiar with the process (there is no duty on this car if it is imported to the US).
