Vehicle Detail
This 1968 Honda Z50 K0 Mini Trail was recently discovered in a retired Honda Dealer’s dry storage attic where it has been for many / many years. It is the most desirable first year series and is a later K0 which the serial number Z50A 112058 clearly indicates plus it has the heavier later 420 chain and not the very early K0's which had the weak link 415 chain and the dumb looking “slant guard” muffler protector. This Z50 appears as if it has literally never been touched as far as any replacement parts and all of the original fasteners are still intact and you can tell they appear to have never had a wrench or screwdriver on any of them. The handlebars are very straight plus the original levers and grips are still intact and the bike looks as if it has never been dropped. The footrest assembly is bent somewhat as the pegs face slightly to the front on one side and to the rear on the other. A NOS or new complete footrest assembly is included with the bike as images indicate. The original date coded Nitto tires are still installed and by the looks of the tread wear this little bike has “Very Low” hours on it. The carburetor float bowl was removed and the jets were cleaned, bowl and surrounding area were immaculate, fuel was installed in the very solid fuel tank (has some very minor surface rust on the interior which may pressure wash out) and the bike started on the third kick. It idles, runs, and shifts through the gears much like it probably did some 47+ years ago when it was brand new! A true “TIME CAPSULE” this Vintage Honda has not been pieced together with a bunch of junk parts and or incorrectly restored like so many of the others you see on the pages of Ebay. An easy restoration for any hobbyist or amateur due to the true simplicity of these early Z50's, should you elect to go in that direction. A multitude of New Old Stock parts are available separately if you wanted to make this bike “Absolutely Mint”. All original factory applied stickers are still intact. Factory issued “correct” early owners manual, footrest assembly, original K0 Dealer brochure are all included to the high bidder. The auction format lists it has a clear title however there is NO TITLE with this Z50 (did they have one when they were new as they were not licensable ?) but a Missouri uniform bill of sale will be provided to the high bidder. Pickup and or shipping will be the sole responsibility of the purchaser. Please feel free to email with any questions you may have. Thank you and good luck.
