Vehicle Detail

Very clean 1987 Chrysler Conquest TSi. Factory turbo intercooled 2.6, 5 speed, rear wheel drive, limited slip diff. Heat/AC works. New Cooper RS3-A tires installed three weeks ago. New drilled/slotted/zinc plated rotors, new pads, and new rear calipers. All stock except full 2.5" exhaust. Runs good. Interior is in great condition. No rust or body damage, all of the common rust areas are 100% solid. The car has a very nice newer repaint, although not the original color. The original color was Atlantic Blue. The engine compartment is the only area not disassembled and jambed when it was repainted. The door and trunk jambs, and bottom of the hood were properly repainted red. There is no overspray on any of the weatherstripping. The car has been my daily driver since April 2014. I have put 18,000 miles on it since then. It has been very reliable- never has left me stranded or needed to be towed. I have done a good bit of maintenance work to keep the car in good running condition. Cosmetically I have applied a full set of reproduction “Conquest” decals in the original reflective black material. It had an ’88-89 steering wheel when I bought the car; I swapped it out for a correct ’87 wheel and restored the radio controls at the same time. The ’88-89 wheel will be included in the sale. The front air dam had some damage so it was repaired and repainted. It is becoming very difficult to find an 86-87 three piece air dam in useable condition, most change out to the 88-89 style which is reproduced. The ’87 seats commonly have a gap between the seat base and thigh bolsters; I have adjusted the bolsters to close up the gap. Headlights have been upgraded with Cibie E-Code H4 housings with 80/100 watt Hella bulbs and a high quality 12 gauge relay harness. The factory harness was not modified in any way and it can be put back 100% stock if desired. I also have both original Koito sealed beam headlights that will go with the car. Everything on the car works properly except the cruise control. It works but loses speed over 60-65 mph or going up hills. It works fine on flat ground up to about 60 mph. There is a vacuum pump for the cruise that may not be working or have a vacuum leak. Known problem areas: There is an exhaust leak, I believe at the manifold. Smokes a little when first started, I’ve been told it is the turbo seals. Smoke goes away after driving ½ mile. Seals/rebuild kit is a $50 DIY fix. Throwout bearing occasionally squeals. The actuator that switches between the face and floor vents doesn’t work 100%. Common problem- the bellows leak vacuum. It will switch between the upper vents and defrost with no problems, it just won't always switch to the floor vents. List of parts/work done since April ’14. Injectors replaced with good used OEM pieces. Both passed ohm test. New injector clips (soldered, not crimped). Throttle body cleaned/resealed. TPS upgraded to Mazda unit. (Common upgrade) Plugs/wires/cap/rotor. Advance mechanism inside distributor cleaned and lubricated. Vacuum advance replaced. Coolant temp sensor replaced. Vacuum hoses replaced as needed. Coil replaced/upgraded.New under hood fuel filter. Inspected in-tank sock filter (sock and inside of tank were spotless). New slave cylinder. New drilled/slotted/zinc plated rotors. New brake pads. New rear calipers. Less than 1,500 miles on the new brake parts. New tires- Cooper Zeon RS3-A in original sizes Less than 1500 miles on tires. New A/C idler pulley bearing. New A/C belt. Oil/filter every 1500 miles
