Up for auction is a original 1962 Ford Galaxie 500 XL convertible equipped with center console and bucket seats. This is a good solid car needing total restoration (see pictures for detail) the body has a few rust spots to repair but nothing structural. The floors and trunk are solid (the trunk has a small area needing repair. All of the stainless trim is present, and I have extra pieces to replace any dented items. The convertible top frame is solid and complete and moves freely manually.. (you will have to clean and connect the power pump etc). The car was sitting for several years on mountain property, someone used it for target practice, the windshield and passenger side glass were shot out, all driver side glass is intact. There are several bullet holes in the driver door (see pictures). The interior is complete but rough from the hot desert sun. This Galaxie is equipped with a 352 ci with 2 barrel carb. I ran the vin and discovered this to be a DSO car ordered by a dealership in Colorado for showroom display, it appears to be the only 1962 convertible Galaxie 500 XL with the chestnut interior (originally reserved for Thunderbird that year) the car also has a motor block warmer installed from the dealer at that time. I have not tried to start or turn the motor , I have too many projects. I was planning to tinker with this car but purchase several others . I did fill the motor with oil to get everything lubricated since it sat so long. Please see pictures for all details, this would make a very beautiful car once restored.
