I've owned this classic BMW 2002 Tii since June of 2003. I recently spent $4,600 getting all rust issues resolved. The body is clean in all areas. Recently painted. It has the rare upgraded mag aluminum wheels (including a spare in the trunk). It was manufactured on 11/20/73 according to an email I received from BMW Mobile Tradition in Germany. It's not 100% perfect but runs well and looks great ! The original color was the light blue metallic but the previous owner painted it white. It was purchased in early 1974 at Mission Viejo Imports in Southern California and has been in Southern CA ever since it was new. It has a new battery, new spark plugs, the brakes and Michelin tires are in very good condition. There is no rust under the car. The spare tire wheel well was treated. The engine was serviced at BMW 2002AD and it runs great. The exhaust system is new. I just had the compression checked at La Jolla Independent. It came out 160, 160, 130, and 110. The car runs well but a quart of oil needs to be added about every 1000 miles or so. The only engine rebuild was performed in 1998 and that was about 55,000 miles ago. The engine still has plenty of power. No smoke coming out. The car is all original except for the drivers seat cover, air filter and the replacement radio which doesn't work.
