Vehicle Detail
Offered at auction is my 1996 Ford F250 XLT Extended Cab truck. Equipped with a 7.3L Power Stroke Turbo Diesel it runs great, does not smoke, and does not use or leak oil. I purchased this truck in 2000 from a friend of mine in Lordsburg, New Mexico and used it for pulling a 24' travel trailer. When the truck had around 178,000 miles on it the oil plug was left out after an oil change and, although it ran OK after that incident, it smoked. Rather than put up with the smoke I had the engine completely overhauled in Oklahoma City. The truck now has 341,592 miles on it. It has been trouble free for the last 163,000 plus miles. It uses NO oil between oil changes, does not smoke, does not leak any oil, and runs perfect. We have had no problems since the overhaul. In 2003 we "sold" the truck to my in-laws who live in Scottsdale, Arizona. They pulled their 26' travel trailer with the truck. The truck has, for the most part of it's life, been kept under a shaded area or garaged. Recent maintenance includes a new turbo charger (2011), new tires (2012 with 12/32" tread remaining), brakes in 2013, recent Arizona emissions test (August 2014) which it passed with flying colors, recently overhauled oil cooler (I just did this about 3 weeks ago). It started leaking oil out of the oil cooler so I had it removed and overhauled. All of the glass is in excellent condition. Until today it did not have any tears in the headliner but I punched a hole in it while vacuuming out the rear seat area (darn it). I took a photo of it for your review. The carpet needs a good cleaning but I will get to it in the next day or two and shampoo it. The drivers seat is showing wear but not bad at all. In September 2014 my in-laws "sold" the truck back to me and I drove it back from Scottsdale to Oklahoma City with no problems other than it was 107 degrees out and the air conditioner wasn't cooling. I'm getting old so it was a trip to remember. When I got back home I had the A/C unit serviced with new Freon (changed over to R-134 a few years back by an A/C service business in Scottsdale). It blows cold and works just fine. I was feeling good until the air conditioner guy told me for $40 bucks I could have added Freon to it in Arizona and drove back in comfort..........(I wanted to call him a name but I just said "thank you"). Here's a list of the equipment on the truck as best I can remember: 7.3L Turbo Diesel engine, air conditioning (did I mention it works really great now?), power steering, tilt wheel, power brakes, power windows, power door locks with remote on the key chains (2 sets of keys), AM/FM Radio with Cassette, dual fuel tanks, power lumbar supports in the seats, sliding rear window, 2 tone paint, tinted windows, automatic 4 speed transmission with the tow/haul mode button the shifter, delay wipers, wired for 7 round or 4 round trailers, stow-a-way goose neck receiver hitch with 2 5/16" ball, engine block heater, louvered tailgate, electric trailer brake controller, sliding rear glass. The tires are Yokohama 235/85R/16 and in really nice condition. I'm sure there are lower mile F250's out there but they will probably cost you a lot more than I want out of this one. It shines up nice but is by no means a show car clean vehicle. It has it's nicks and dings but shines up real nice. I would describe it as above average but if you are really interested in it I suggest coming to Yukon, Oklahoma and taking a look. The only reason I am selling it is I have two trucks and haven't been able to figure out how to drive both of them at the same time. The other truck is a 2011 F150 4WD and I'll keep one of them depending on which truck sells first. I'll be listing the F150 in a day or two and it will be priced to sell very quickly. I'm kinda partial to this F250 with the power stroke diesel so I won't mind keeping it if the other truck sells first. For those wanting to know I averaged 19.2 MPG on the trip home from Arizona (without air conditioning, of course). No joke. It really did do this good on fuel. I haven't checked it lately so I don't know if it is still getting really good mileage but unless you are pulling a load these diesels are not fuel guzzlers. Put a heavy trailer behind one and you can expect around 11-12 MPG. The truck sits in the driveway most of the time as does the other one. I have a company vehicle that I drive most of the time so I simply do not need two trucks. I'm serious about selling one of the trucks so if you have any questions please contact me and let's discuss any questions you have before you bid. My cell number is 405-328-4309. I am up early and asleep early so no midnight calls please. I require a $500 NON REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT immediately after the auctions ends. The deposit is payable only by PayPal. NO EXCEPTIONS PLEASE! I have a free and clear Oklahoma title to the truck in my name. The remaining balance is due within 7 days of the end of the auction. It is payable by wire transfer or cash only. No cashiers checks will be accepted. (Sorry, I have been burned in the past on cashiers checks). Thanks for taking a look and please contact me with any questions about the truck.
