Vehicle Detail

BMW K1200RS - Red and READY TO RIDE! If you are looking for a budget way to get into the BMW scene, here it is. We have owned and enjoyed the K for just short of 3 years, and the hubby has decided a nice car is more his speed now. So we are selling for a down payment on his "new to him" car. :o) This bike was a trade-in at a dealership I used to work at. As soon as I saw it, I bought it - and we've loved every minute of owning this bike. It is mainly a stock motorcycle, with the fairings being scratch-free. There is normal wear associated with a 14 year-old motorcycle. NO damage from any accidents (have had NONE) or tip-overs. Again, only normal wear. We have put on a new front and rear tire within the last year, and they have about 1k on them max. There is some rusting of bolts around the front tire area, but again, it's consistent with normal wear and tear. All of them are, again, easily replaced if you really want to. The only item that does not work on the bike is the fuel gauge. From my personal experience (don't ask LOL) the bike will go exactly 185 miles on a full tank of gas. So we just reset the trip odometer and drive just a little less than that number. The part to fix is about $50 and an hour or two of your time. It just didn't matter to us as the good 'ol trip odometer did the trick. We have a clean and clear title in our name, ready to sign over to the new owner. We are not shippers, so you will have to arrange shipping for the bike if needed, and we will gladly work with the shipper and the new buyer. You will also need some form of "tag" to get the bike home if you are driving it. We will not allow the bike to be driven to the new home on our tags for insurance reasons. We do have all keys for ignition and for the saddlebags. The saddlebags go on and off smoothly. There is a lead for a battery tender; the bike is stored/parked on it's center stand at all times and plugged into the tender. The battery is 100%! Both my husband and I are former MSF instructors and take GREAT PRIDE in our machines. The air cooled motor in this bike pulls hard and smoothly. The transmission shifts smoothly. The hubby and I are are both about a 31-2" inseam, and can 99% flat-foot the bike at a stop. You don't need to be vertically-endowed to ride this BMW. :o) I will also include the o-rings needed for an oil change. :o) Bike DOES have tool kit as well as owner's manual. Please take a good look at the photos. I apologize for the photos sideways, ebay will not allow me to revise these to the right way unless I delete and reload them. Ugh. This is a used motorcycle, and therefore is being sold as-is. I, as well as my husband, have rode the bike in the past two weeks and it's a road missile - fasssssttttt!!! ***The bike is ready to ride, no repairs, no tires, nothing needed - only if you choose to repair the fuel gauge. We have ridden it recently and it works fine with no issues. Please understand this is a 14 year old motorcycle - for it's age it is in (my opinion) stellar condition. It is not a garage queen and has been ridden by the previous owner and now us. If you have any questions, feel free to message me. I can usually get a reply to you within just a few minutes. On Mar-26-15 at 05:55:48 PDT, seller added the following information: Mistype/correction: brought to my attention that I typed air-cooled for the motor. The bike is water-cooled. This was my typo, as I have owned an air-cooled Ducati and just mis-typed the wrong information - this is my hubby's bike, not mine (although I ride it, and it's fun!). That's what you get when you try to type all this stuff after a long day of work. :o(On Mar-27-15 at 10:02:23 PDT, seller added the following information: I would like to make very clear to all interested parties that:the bike has consistent wear with a 14 year old motorcycle.the previous owner (who we don't know; was a dealer trade in bike) rode the bike - a lot!the bike has been ridden in the rain and adverse weather conditions, hence some bolts showing surface rust.there are NO leaks coming from anywhere - drive, oil pan, forks, etc. NONE.the bike does NOT burn any oil, nor does it smoke.it is stored on it's center stand, under a cover, under a carport, on a tender.yes, it's THAT clean - All. The. Time. Husband-owner is a U.S. Navy clean-freak. :) (and I still love him!)we have driven it as recently as last week right before posting on ebay. we will NOT drive it anymore due to a selling bid received.I have been diligently been answering questions from all interested parties, but I hope the above statement will assist you in making a decision to bid, watch, or walk away. I have sold 5+ motorcycles and over 4 cars on ebay with no issues. My 800+ 100% feedback should show you I/we are honest, and I don't plan on having any issues now. We have disclosed to the best of our knowledge the condition of the motorcycle and posted very good and clear pictures. We are not mechanics, just avid motorcycle riders who are trying to find a super home for a super motorcycle. ***as listed in the original post above, the bike is being sold as-is, with no warranty.**
