I try to describe the positives & negatives of this vehicle accurately in this description. This Saturn SL runs & drives quite well! With 35+ miles per gallon, this car will keep you going and going with less gas money spent at the pump. Gas prices might be low for now, but we all know what is going to happen eventually when they go back up! I purchased this vehicle from as a trade-in from a new car dealership in NW Ohio and have driven it about 125 miles since - it runs and drives quite nice! The 1.9L I4-cylinder engine runs strong with plenty of power. The manual transmission shifts smooth with no issues, clutch appears to hold the power nicely. This Saturn is equipped with the basic options like power steering, air conditiong, and CD player (yes, these are options on these cars -- I've owned one without them) but is otherwise equipped with the basic package of manual windows/locks/mirrors -- less electronic stuff to break. Zero accident history per autocheck! Mechanically, this Saturn appears is in quite good condition. The engine & transmission are running and driving good, the only minor exception is after sitting for several hours the engine will run a little rough for one or maybe two seconds after you start it until it smooths right out. Like all previous Saturns I've had, it idles around 1100 rpm, which is a little high and takes a moment to idle down once you get off the accelerator. I haven't noticed any burning oil on this particular model, but being that it is a Saturn I will note that it is possible this one burns a little between oil changes but I don't see any smoke to indicate it. The brakes stop the car straight and with more than adequate power. There is a little pulsation in the brakes when coming from a high-speed, but nothing too bad. While driving the steering & suspension components appears to be in good shape - no rattles, no suspension noise - and the steering seems to be tight I have not noticed any leaks on the ground from this Saturn. The tires are all 195/65/15 mounted on factory alloy wheels, although they are wheels off a Saturn SL2 (upgraded). The tire brands are mis-matched but they all have good tread remaining (see pics). The vehicle drives straight down the road. A very slight vibration is noticeable over 55 MPH, but it is slight. Overall, this vehicle drives very nicely for its age and mileage. Spare tire is present. The heat works well and the fan blows on all power levels and blows wherever you want it to (defrost, vents, floor, etc). The A/C hasn't been tested because its been quite cold outside. The Saturn is equipped with AM/FM/CD that appears to be working well although the radio is missing a few knobs they all work. The check engine light is on for code P0130, P0134 (oxygen sensor codes), and P0507 (idle air control - likely has to do with the slightly high idle). The exhaust sounds good but might have a very small leak if you are particular. All of the gauges read properly and there are no abnormal readings. The engine runs smooth with no lack of power at all - very strong. All of the windows work and the windshield is in good condition. For a 13 year old vehicle, there are surprising few little quirks -- the left directional dash vent is missing (the thing that you point the air coming out of the dash vent), sometimes you need to wiggle the key in the ignition (another common Saturn issue), and the rear window defroster does not appear to be operational. Overall, quite a nice running and driving vehicle, I would not hesitate to drive this one anywhere! Cosmetically -- this vehicle looks in nice shape. The exterior paint is in very good condition. This is a clean exterior, only a couple very normal scratches here or there. The windshield is in good condition and so is the rest of the glass. The interior is in decent condition. The cloth interior has no rips or major damage. There is some discoloration in the carpets and in the seats that would probably come out with a good steam cleaning - a good detail would benefit this interior. There was a decently strong smoke odor although I used an odor neutralizing ozone machine that removed the odor to where I cannot notice it anymore but someone very particular may notice a lingering odor. Door panels are all attached normally and snug. The steering wheel is worn near the "1 o'clock" position. The headliner is in good condition. Check out the pictures - they speak for themselves! I have tried to capture both the positives and the flaws in those pictures. Overall, this Saturn shows nice and will be a vehicle that you can be proud of! I have tried my best to represent this vehicle accurately and to the best of my abilities. Earning and keeping a 100% positive feedback rating is very important to me! I purchase most of my vehicles as trade-ins from new car dealerships as traded. I test drive each vehicle on the expressway and around town for at least 20 miles, often over 100 miles, and use that experience to represent the vehicle to you on eBay. Please remember that you are buying a used vehicle and that a certain amount of wear/use/flaws are to be expected on any used vehicle -- including this one. This is the State of Michigan's rule, not mine...but from browsing eBay $10 is probably the cheapest temp-tag of any state and you will be able to drive your car immediately and legally. In Michigan, all cars sold over 10 years old are marked as mileage exempt in accordance with Federal law. Basically, this means that the State stops keeping track of mileage on older cars, however Autocheck still does track the mileage and this vehicle is not known to have any mileage inaccuracies or discrepancies.
