79 VW Rabbit Diesel L model 5 speed, Originally purchased this car from Eastern O.K. Its an original Texas car, almost 100% rust free barring the spot behind the driver rear wheel as shown. I drove this car to work daily 80mi round trip for the past few years fixing and improving things as I went. Gets 40mpg all day long. Last time I checked compression on it was 410-390 on all cyls. Car has been off the road since 5/14 due to a change in my work schedule requiring use of my truck daily. It has the typical dents and scratches you will find in a 40 year old car. A few pieces of ext trim are missing, Its going to need tires and a passenger side window crank. PO cut up the door cards kind of sloppy to fit speakers. Is going to need a new vac pump, Id recomend the later rotary style from parts place. I have a new set of glow plugs and a block heater to go with the car uninstalled . Stock steel wheels and good tires go with it also. There is no heat or heater box pervious owner removed them as they are known to leak rainwater. The exhaust could use a weld where the pipe meets the muffler.The AC pump squeaks a bit. Comes with original owners manual. All new parts installed were purchased from Parts Place Inc.  Mileage shows 24k but like most of this era the plastic odometer drive gear works intermittently. Reserve is significantly lower than buy it now.   Since purchasing car on 4/20/13 I have had done many things 4/26/13 Replaced window cranks, new radiator, 4 new injectors, rebuilt injection pump, timed injection pump, installed and rewired thermo fan switch, rebuilt shifter linkage, new air, fuel and oil filters, changed oil, new wipers, repaired radio, new exterior door handle pass side, new wipers, installed 4 BMW bottle cap wheels  5/10/13 Wax and compound whole car, replace pass headlight, fixed seat release 5/15/13 Replaced all return fuel lines, new timing belt and tensioner installed, timed injection pump, new lower radiator hose installed, adjusted clutch, 4 glow plugs installed, new valve cover gasket with late model camshaft oil shield installed, new hatch prop piston installed, oiled locks, fixed up loose wiring under dash 7/8/13 Rebuilt vac pump, new pass mirror, new front brakes, resurfaced pass side front brake rotor 7/13/13 replaced front struts with new GTI units 7/20/13 Replaced rear struts with new GTI units, replaced both door strikers, Installed new driver and pass side axles 7/21/13 Fixed ripped rear decklid cover, touched up paint scratches,  7/27/13 Repainted silver on emblems 2/16/14 replaced driver side inner and outer tie rod ends, master cylinder, one steel brake line.  I've presented you with an honest representation of the car due to the nature of long distance buying.  Please feel free to contact me with questions.
