This vehicle is very nice no rust and good tires. It has had timing belt replaced head gaskets, heads resurfaced and valves replaced. Cam seals, front seal, rear seal and flex plate have all been replaced transmission lines and hoses replaced. I purchased this vehicle with a blown head gasket my son was to drive this car. When we had all of the work done it ran good but seemed to use oil. I removed it from service and it has been sitting for three months now. I was just trying to get excited about having it looked at to find what is causing it to use more oil than i think is normal, when my wife decided it was bathroom remodel time. Thus ending the repair of the Subaru. This was my first venture into the Subaru market and probably will be my last. I have found i do not understand this car or its quirks that i am told by many Subaru enthusiasts are normal. I love the way it goes in snow the way it feels on the road and comfort it affords with all the bells and whistles. I hate the inability to work on without knowledge the small town mechanics that don't have a clue and the answer of all Subarus do that. Here is what i know about this Subarru the good the bad and the ugly. Well first the ugly its boxy and square now the Good it has all the possible luxuaries of the year 1999 drives nice and hadles well snow is not even a concern and there is no rust. good tires new rotors brakes and wheel bearings and one caliper on the front and of course all of the above stuff in the first line of the add. The bad I know of is a/c is not cooling the clock doesn't work online says repair is easy. Clock spring in steering colum needs replaced the horn works only when the wheel is turned a little from center as well as the air bag light is on for same reason also this causes the cruise to only work when the wheel is slightly off center when you set the cruise. This is one of those yep it happened alot tho those Subarus. Fog lights are not on the car and of course it uses oil. I was planning on swapping a japanese engine out for this car I have that engine it is here covered up and waiting but it was never done. The newer engine has less than 60000 and was purchased from a dealer online. I have no idea as to wether it is an good one or not wether it runs or not or whether its the right one even. I took the people online to know their stuff and last year when i bought it it had a warranty but since i never got around to changing it now is a moot point . The car is sold without the extra engine the engine is available with no guaranties of any kind for an additional $600 dollars you buy it you bought it. the engine can be sold seperate if anyone wants just that. This car does drive and is drivable it just uses oil and hasn't been started in three months. After placing this add i will go out and start the car and make sure the battery and is fully charged and all levels are topped off. This is a no warranty buy it or don't low priced I want it off my basket ball court. If you would like to come see it please feel free to message me and we will make arrangments. Thats less than it costs me but I want to be fair. Otherwise it belongs to you if it lasts you five minutes or five years five miles or five hundred thousand miles. The price is low because I believe in being fair andit has some issues. I would not be afraid to drive this car anywhere as long as I kept an eye on the oil use.
