Vehicle Detail

This is a very well-maintained family vehicle that has served us beautifully for over 6 years. Baby #8 came 12 weeks early, which means two things: we outgrew this vehicle, and we need some money to pay medical bills. The NICU isn't cheap! In all honesty, we'd be keeping it if we hadn't outgrown it. This is a 3/4-ton 2001 GMC Yukon XL (the big one, like a Suburban). Kelley Blue Book value for this vehicle is around $5700. But we're selling it here with no reserve. If you're the high bidder and you win the auction, it's yours. * Seats 9 (full front bench with fold-down console) * Rear heat and A/C * Tow package * Privacy Glass * Roof Rack * Power windows, power locks with keyless entry remotes, dual power seats * Traction control, ABS, cruise control * 6L V8 with high-performance FlowMaster exhaust * New Toyo "Open Country" tires from Les Schwab 1 year (9000 miles) ago * New battery last month The 3/4-ton (2500) versions of these vehicles aren't very common, especially with the 9-seat configuration. Compared to the 1/2 ton chassis, this one feels really sturdy and solid when you drive it. We live in some windy country and it's nice to drive something a little more sturdy. We had planned on keeping this vehicle for the long term, so we've taken good care of it. We have all of the service records from our time as owners along with those from the previous owner. Mechanically, it's in in great condition with about average miles for its age. It has no fluid leaks, the engine is strong and the FlowMaster exhaust gives it some extra accelerating power in addition to making it sound really manly. Recently, it's had a new fuel pump, new serpentine belt, new tires, bulbs replaced, and a transmission flush. The interior is in great condition too. It's never been smoked in, and the carpet and cloth seats are clean. We've not permitted the kids to drink any sticky stuff like juice or soda pop in it, and we've recently shampooed the carpets as part of the detail cleaning to prep it for sale. The seats are in very good shape (if perhaps a little indented from having kids' car seats on them) and all of the little plastic trim pieces are still in place. Yes, we're the kind of OCD sort of people who even replace & fix the little stuff.... except the DVD player. It's got an aftermarket dome light DVD player that we swore we wouldn't use (the previous owners had installed it) but the kids won out and we used it on long trips. But when it started acting quirky, I wasn't super motivated to fix it. The kids know how to work with its quirks, but for the purpose of this sale you'd better consider it non-existent or non-functional. And just because I believe in full disclosure, especially if you're not able to come look at it in person before the end of the auction, here are the other minor things that I'm aware of: * The trailer brake controller has never worked right for me. It may just need some adjusting, but I've never towed anything large with it. * The windshield has a few rock chips that have been sealed. * It burns a little oil (about a quart between oil changes), but it doesn't drip any. We've tried to change the oil every 3000 miles, so this hasn't been an issue for us. But we keep an extra quart in the back in case the "check oil level" alert comes on. * The DVD player is up where the rear dome light would be, and it's got a "dome light" feature that may be wired backwards. If turned on, it comes on when the door is closed and goes off when you open it. We've just never used it and turned it on/off manually instead. * There is a slight air leak around the heater box that causes some cool air to blow into the passenger foot well at high speeds. We had this sealed up after we bought it (apparently it's a common problem), which improved the situation greatly but it's still noticeable. My wife wears warm high boots in the winter and sometimes put a coat down there. Also, Carfax shows an accident on this vehicle, but that's not quite an accurate description of what happened. The previous owner was towing a boat that slipped off of the hitch and broke the rear hatch door. They had it repaired and it works perfectly now. Contact me with any questions and I'll respond quickly. Thanks and God Bless!
