Vehicle Detail
Thanks for looking at my 1966 Ford F100. I run a small used car lot in Chanute, KS. We recently traded for this truck and the gentlemen that traded this truck in was the step son of the original owner. The truck was manufactured in Kansas City, MO. The truck was originally purchased at Ralph Porter Ford Dealership in Fredonia, KS. This truck has been restored I do not have documents showing the extent of restoration. I will provide as many good quality pictures as I possibly can and will be glad to take more in specific areas at the request of any interested parties. KANSAS RESIDENTS: Please note that I am a Kansas Used Car Dealer and I will have to collect sales tax at a rate of 8.4% if this truck is purchased by a Kansas Resident this will be added to the total sale price of the vehicle. I realize that condition is the most important factor in deciding what the value of this truck is, this being said '66 Fords are not my expertise. I will provide all information I can so you know exactly what you are bidding on and PLEASE if you have a question contact me. I'll be more than happy to get any information I can. The only thing I have done to the truck is install a new battery. It is very cold blooded and takes a few minutes to get warmed up. It is very drivable. I have been driving it for the last week just to see what works and what doesn't. It has started every morning in below freezing temperatures. It idles great after it gets warmed up. It has a touchy throttle it takes some getting used to just to keep from banging your passengers head. I'm sure it could be adjusted and fixed but like I said these trucks are not my expertise. The transmission feels very strong for normal driving Low gear is actually not necessary I have not used it but a couple times starting on a incline. The clutch feels good never grinds gears. Sometimes it can be a pain to get into reverse and I have had to put it into another gear before it will engage. It doesn't do this every time and it probably could be adjusted it has never been an issue. The brakes are good no problems stopping. It does NOT have power steering which makes driving around town a heck of an arm workout, but the steering is good and tight and it drives straight down the highway without an issue. All the exterior lights work except for the left front turn signal. There is an aftermarket temperature gauge and oil pressure gauge mounted under the dash they both appear to be working. The original Gas Gauge and Speedometer and Voltmeter also appear to be working. I don't think the original temperature gauge works. The wheels I believe are from a later model ford and the tires don't match but they hold air and have decent tread. There is no visible rust on the truck. Now I think I will let the pictures do the rest of the talking for me. Please contact me with any question regarding this truck. If you would like to call and talk to me my name is Scott and my number is 913.787.7337
