This single owner truck was purchased on July 14, 1993 from Newport Toyota and has 241,976 single owner non-smoker miles. The bad news - it has been in RI all its life, and has never enjoyed operating in the south, or the west, or any other place that doesn't see four seasons. It was usually garaged during the winter (with a few years exceptions when we were building or renovating), but when the weather was bad, we ALWAYS used this truck. It's been a faithful, reliable vehicle for going on 22 years now. It handles snow and inclement weather like a champ. I've done most of the maintenance on the vehicle myself (I'm a mechanical engineer) since new, with the exception of installing tires and a couple of the more involved scheduled service procedures. I'm selling it because the bracket holding the rear stabilizer to the axle broke (see photos), it's beyond my capabilities to repair (I'm not much of a welder), and the local shop wants more for the repair job (replacing the whole axle) than I think the truck is probably worth. The truck now has a pronounced sway at 40mph or higher which I don't consider safe, so I am selling this truck with the understanding that it is for PARTS OR REPAIR ONLY and is NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN CURRENT CONDITION. Recommend flatbed or towing facing backwards for transportation. Now, the good news - other than the stabilizer bar, the truck is in pretty good condition considering its miles and age. There is some rust (see photos) on the doors, exterior panels, cargo hooks, and running boards. The engine, transmission, 4 wheel drive, differential locks, wheel bearings, suspension, and glass are all in good shape and work fine. There are some scrapes on the bumper and paint which should be expected for a truck of this age. the engine has a chain for timing, so no pesky timing belt issues with this model. Some known issues: A/C and heat work fine, although the rear seat heater doesn't put out a whole lot of heat any more. The rear passenger side fender flare has a crack in the fiberglass section (pictured). The rear defrost does not work. The driver side window opener is slow in cold weather. The heater blower has started a low frequency buzz, and will probably need to be replaced soon. Other features: The stock stereo was replaced after my toddler son tried to play some spare change with the CD player. The current JVC stereo has operating radio, CD, cassette tape, and mp3 input capabilities. Bilstein heavy duty shock absorbers were installed about 8 years ago. A new radiator was installed 5 years ago. Leather seats started cracking about 8 years ago, so seat covers from Specter Offroad were installed on all seats. New exhaust system and battery installed two years ago. New tie rods installed when inspected in October 2014. The Michelin LTX tires (OEM, about $920 for a set new) have 3/8" tread left. This truck has the factory hitch and alarm system. The truck has a valid RI inspection through October 2016, but due to the above stabilizer issue it IS NOT SAFE TO DRIVE IN CURRENT CONDITION. Other stuff included: Weathertech floor mats and two weathertech rear mats. Factory service manual, electrical wiring manual, and original owner's manual. Spare sunroof (glass cracked but frame good). Thule ski rack with locks. Spare spark plug harness.
