BMW 1968 R60/2. Recently acquired from the original owner that purchased it new in Ohio from the Penton BMW Dealership. Still sporting its original touring system of a Wixom fairing and Craven Silver Arrow panniers. It has been in storage for ~10 years and the engine occasionally turned over and run. I cleaned and flushed the fuel tank, installed a new Karcoma fuel tap and ultrasonic cleaned (and fitted new carb gaskets/rings). The machine then started after several primer kicks and one ignition 'on' kick! It now starts quickly and easily, then settles into a smooth idle. I briefly rode the machine and it shifts very nice through all gears. The steering stem bearings grease requires attention from its non-use. Somewhere during the late 60's or 70's the frame was replaced at the Penton dealership. They used for some reason an earlier frame. I've maintained the machine for the previous owner for ~30 years. There is one key that fits the tank tool lid lock and not the fork. The original tool kit is included. The bike is currently located in TX after living its life in OH. It has a clear OH title which retains its original engine VIN number. It also has its original frame badge that matches the title. This bike is an excellent candidate for a total restoration or ride it 'as is' after a complete mechanical review of all components. The machine is auctioned in 'as is' condition. There is no warranty included with the purchase of this machine.
