Vehicle Detail
This car was purchased last year from the original owner's wife through an estate sale in upstate NJ. It has an interesting history. Although it's a 1983 model, it was never registered until the late 80s. The owner kept the car garaged and in fantastic condition. The car was last registered in 2001. Following that, the car sat in storage until it was sold as part of the estate this past year. This is a 100% all original car including the Montego Black Metallic paint which was a special color only offered in 83 and 84. Absolutely no corrosion anywhere on the car. Look at the AutoCheck score... After purchasing the car last year, I had a complete tune-up performed followed by replacing the timing belt and water pump at the local Maserati Dealership. I also had the AC system switched over to R134. The AC works great and blows cold. The odometer reads 26,303 - AutoCheck Confirmed. Also, I asked the Porsche mechanic at Maserati if he thought the mileage was truly 26K. He and others at the shop looked the car over and after working on it and driving it, said the mileage was constant with the wear. The car runs great, idles great, and accelerates smoothly through all gears. There are no fluid leaks of any kind. The oil pressure is great as you can see in one of the photos and there are no overheating issues. Here are the few cosmetic items which could use attention: There is a small crack in the dash. The passenger seat fabric has been cut or ripped as seen in the photo. The gearshift knob leather has worn through (my fault... used the wrong oil attempting to condition the leather). a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due within 24 hours of auction close.
