FOR SALE: 1967 Buick Skylark Base - 340-2 Engine The coupe version of this car is quite common but the sedan is very rare, especially in this condition. This is most likely one of the nicest, cleanest and best running 3rd generation Skylark sedans out there. This particular car spent several years in a Midwestern auto museum. I purchased it as a project car for my son and I. A lot of time and effort was spent making it a reliable weekend cruiser. Recent work/upgrades done: New Brakes New Drums New Wheel Bearings New Exhaust System New Battery New Rear Springs New Carpet Valve covers were removed, cleaned and new gaskets installed Top of cylinder heads were cleaned thoroughly and engine flushed to remove any contaminants New spark plugs Air Cleaned sanded, painted and new filter installed Oil pan removed, cleaned inside out, painted and new gasket installed New oil plug and gasket installed Oil pickup reconditioned Trans pan removed, cleaned, painted and new gasket installed Fresh oil and filter change Coolant system flushed This car starts right up, runs great and sounds awesome. No smoke! No leaks! Power steering and brakes work perfectly. Everything inside the car works too. AM radio works as good as it did when new. Dash looks brand new and headliner is near perfect. Seats are original and in very good condition with only a little sun fading on the top of the rear bench. All glass is good and windows roll up and down freely. Tires are at 90%. Original jack, tire and trunk mat are there too. I currently have an electric choke that I’ve been trying to find time to install but if I can’t get it done by the time the car is sold, I will include it in the sale. I will also include a new thermostat with gasket, full engine gasket set (minus the valve cover ones) and additional hub cap sets. The pictures should easily translate how clean this car is. Every time I drive this car I get a thumbs-up from other drivers. Gas stations and stop lights bring lots of gawkers, compliments and questions. Seriously, if you don’t like attention… this is not the car for you. There is a very small amount of rust on the inside bottom of the doors on the drivers side. Looks like a bleed through on the metal seams after the respray (you can barely see in pics). Other than that, I have found no visible rust anywhere on the outer body. There is typical surface rust on the underlying steel parts. When I pulled the carpets out, the floor pans looked fantastic. No rust, no holes and structurally sound! With all of that being said, please note that this car is NOT perfect! Nor is it being portrayed that way. This is a 47 year old car with 77xxx miles and is being sold AS-IS. This is a great driver quality car and it’s only one piece of trim away from being complete. There is a small piece of trim by the front passenger wheel well that I’m trying to hunt down.
