Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is a 1991 BMW 850i Sport Coupe. The car is equipped with a V12 engine and automatic transmission. The current odometer reading is 74,289 which I believe to be original (the vehicle will be sold as "miles exempt" / which is how all cars in California that are more than 10 years old are sold.) The car seems to have been sitting for quite a while but does run and drive. That being said the car will need some work to be brought back to its former glory. I recently purchased the car and have only driven it about 50 miles or so. The car seems to run pretty well. A couple of things I did notice are that there is a vibration in the steering at about 50mph, most likely from a bad tire. The pop up headlights don't seem to always go up and down properly. The check engine light comes on occasionally at idle but goes away on acceleration. The engine is smooth and has no unusual noises. The transmission seems to work fine. The interior of the car is decent overall. The front seats both show wear. The drivers seat has a hole in the side bolster. The rest of the interior looks pretty decent although it could use a cleaning/detail. The exterior needs work and definitely shows its age. There are no large dents or major damage but there are numerous scratches, dings, and scrapes. There are a couple of rust spots on the sunroof. Minor damage to the front nose and the plastic underneath the front of the car is damaged. Paint will obviously need to be redone. The car has a clean title but the Carfax report does show 2 accidents. Overall a solid car to fix up or restore. Nice ones are going for over $10k, this one can be bought for a fraction of that. The winning bidder must pay a non-refundable $500 deposit via paypal within 24 hours of the auctions end. The balance is due within 5 days via certified funds .The car must be picked up within 10 days. The buyer is responsible for pickup and transportation costs. If you are not local I recommend having the vehicle towed or transported due to the age of the vehicle. California buyers are responsible for sales tax and registration. The car has recently passed the California Emissions and the car is currently registered until February 2015.
