Vehicle Detail
1963 Ford Galaxie 500. Looking for a great Christmas gift for you or your child? Wrap them in 4000 pounds of Detroit steel! This car is built like a tank! It drives smooth and straight and has only 41,000 ORIGINAL miles. I am, I believe, the second owner. This car is not built for speed, it's a cruiser. Has a 6 cylinder, with 3 speed manual transmission on the column. Interior is almost perfect, no rips or tears in the seats, the headliner is perfect as is all the rope trim. The exterior has the original paint, shows some wear but remember the car is 51 years old! Chrome bumpers are rust free. Look at the pics and I'll point out any imperfections. I am asking $3250.00 and am firm on that price. I don't want to have her sit out in the cold all winter as I don't have a garage. This would be a PERFECT starter car! Since I can't post on individual pictures I'll give you an indication of all imperfections. The interior is great. Original (with seat belts). The padded dash is perfect, no flaws. the only thing wrong is the dome light plastic is cracked. The exterior: Some SURFACE rust on lower drivers rear door, and lower passenger fender. There is also a small ding at the lower driver's front fender. All glass is good. Bumpers are rust free. Have the original rims and dog dish hubcaps for it also! UPDATE: I was asked several questions about the car and they didn't end up in the question section so I'll update them here: hi,i am interested in the car. how does the engine run? The engine runs strong and idles smooth. does it smoke or lose oil? It does not smoke but uses about a quart of oil between changes. can it be driven 200 miles safely? I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere. how are the tires? Tires are like new. is the clutch ok? Clutch works as it should, smooth no grinding. does the trans shift smoothly into all gears? Yes is the exhaust more or less ok for now? Exhaust is fine. how does it steer going down the road? It steers straight and has no play or shakes. does it feel reasonable at 60 miles per hour? I have it on the turnpike from time to time, it runs 70mph fine. Are the brakes reasonable? Brakes are good. The one thing I did to take away from the originality of the car was to add a dual master cylinder instead of the single master cylinder that was stock. Do all of the lights and gauges work? All lights and gauges work as they should. Let me put it this way....picture the most comfortable couch you've ever sat on, add a steering wheel. That's what it's like driving this car. The 6 cylinder single barrel carb sips the gas, it doesn't gulp it like the big V-8's. It's not a race car...it's a cruising car!
